For mine it's no longer about the draft pick we give up for him, but the money. He wants $750k a year, but he'd probably be happy with $600k a year....

So that would mean $900k of our cap is being taken up by 2 players who realistically may never play a game of AFL level footy again.

Who to say they would be a better player than Jong. Another assesment that has no credible way of being evaluated. Good player holding a spot un a good side. I back his form rather than speculation.

Also on O'Meara believe a first round draft pick and a depth player maybe enough to get him. And believe he should be our primary recruiting target as his age would fit with where we are in our next flag push.

Go & watch JOM's NEAFL highlights from 4-5 weeks ago. He can't even pivot off his right leg, does everything he can to avoid landing on his right knee & avoided as much body contact as a player possibly could. He is not going to get that luxury at AFL level & he will never be the same player if he ever does come good, as there's pretty much no athlete alive that has come back from his injury & returned to the same level they were previously

If Ameet is looking to strengthen the teams depth with players 22-35 I would do these moves:
CEY for Murdoch
Lamb for 2017 3rd
Steele + Barrett + pick 15-20 for 2016 1st
2017 2nd to Bris for Gardiner + swap of 2016 3rds

Go to draft with pick 15-25 (hopefully grab Scharenberg) and 40 odd ( tall 190+ mid / X factor player/ ruck-fwd) + upgrade NOK

We sit outside the 8 because we were shit at the start of the year with our travel.

FYI we actually have a very nice record of 6-1 with Nathan Wright in the team & his pressure & intensity would have been very handy in our shit-poor effort game against Gold Coast when he was out injured (with a cracked shoulder blade from putting his body on the line for his teammates). Don't underestimate the lift that a pure team orientated player gives to his teammates out there. The boys LOVE Nathan Wright in the team with them

Membrey (188cm) has KPP attributes. Roberton (194cm) does not. Height isn't necessarily an indicator; he's a very tall flanker/utility.
