Jayden Hunt - young kid, long blonde hair, probably hard to pick him up in general play because he appears only as a blur.

Kid has some serious wheels, and is prepared to take the game on. DylBucks is handy on his day, but Hunt has him covered for pace.
Does he win best Frodo every Halloween? Does he? Well?

wouldnt be much between them. both are exciting. cuningham has some serious wheels as well. what we desperately need

I just want to put my thoughts out there for everyone who is thinking that we just bundle up a couple of 2nd round picks to get a upgrade to a 1st round selection.
There are a lot of teams thinking of doing exactly the same thing, I can see this market being very competitive and may cost us more than we think.

Some talk filtering in about trading Kreuzer. Just wanted to ask - what makes us think anyone's going to want him?

He was a FA last year, by all reports we were doing our best to relocate him in the hopes we'd get a good compo pick, but nobody was prepared to take a chance on him. If he were to go this year, it would have to be via a trade - so if nobody wanted him as a FA, why would anyone be giving up a pick or player for him?

Not criticising the bloke, not saying he can't play - just wondering where the suitors will be coming from.

GWS will likely be moving at least one of the Geelong/GWS first rounders, but we will be likely to want future picks rather than picks this year.

Injury was the biggest concern about him last year. Coming off 13 games and supposedly failing a medical. If he plays against * that's 21 games this year. He hasn't looked hobbled and should attract interest from a couple of clubs at least.

Well at least he has shown he is durable. That seemed to be one argument against any other team picking him up last year.

We could use a durable ruckman.

I wasn't advocating trading him, just answering the question. I'm not sure where I stand on Kreuz to be honest.
His output isn't really getting me excited, but I'm aware that he's effectively splitting the ruck duties down the middle with Phillips.

Just pointing out the irony. It is similar to Casboult, people are advocating a trade to teams that need him for the exact role he plays for us, leaving us with no replacement.

we don't need to play 2 rucks though. If we got pick 20-30 I'd be happy.

Not that hard to replace.

http://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/T/Ty_Vickery.html (Same age)
http://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/J/Jonathon_Patton.html (23 yo)
http://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/J/Josh_Bruce.html (24 yo)
http://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/M/Matthew_Taberner.html (23 yo)

There's just a sample of the players that have played a similar amount of games.
Taberner is the only one that averages less goals per game than Casboult.
Casboult's 2016 stats make for pretty woeful reading across all categories.

Nah... any player who is delisted can be taken as a DFA as far as I am aware of.

The problem then is that if we take him as a DFA and he does his knee again, he is on the list for at least 12 months and we're stuck with being one player short for the year!

Not that great of a loss, we have carried Dick all year, Smith, DVR.
A rookie spot or nothing in his case I think.

You are not getting a Patton or Bruce for less than what we would get for Casboult.

Vickery is unlikely to sign a one year deal with us, doesn't play the same role anyway.

Taberner is a possibility, As you point out, stats are worse than Casboult so age is his biggest advantage. With Pav retiring, they may want to keep.

For starters, WC & HAW have just lost their No. 1 ruckmen for 12 Months with ACL's. Dogs and * will be looking for a ruckman next year.

So Bolts mentioned in the post match presser that Cripps, Gibbs and Curnow have carried our midfield this year and we need more depth. I think we will do something to get a quality mid, either through the draft or a trade.

Although our midfield has been such an obvious glaring weakness this year that i was sure the MC were aware of, it's nice to finally hear some mention of it from Bolts.

Especially with all the talk about trading in Tomlinson, Marchbank and Stewart, i was a little worried that we were loading up on talls again...but yeah hopefully we look to get 2 mids who can have an impact next year...eg pick #5 (hopefully can have a Parish-like influence) and then trade in a Steele or Hrovat type etc.

Makes folly talk of getting rid of Gibbs

Can we put an end to the trade Gibbs suggestions once and for all?
I know this is an open forum of opinion but the insistence of some people on this topic really irritates me.

Gibbs has been one of our top midfielders pretty much his whole career and has always finished high in the B&F...and this year he's again up there and has shown he can absolutely dominate games and kick goals.

The problem is consistency but as Bolts mentioned in his presser, he has shouldered a huge workload in the midfield due to our lack of depth, it's near impossible to keep up such a high level week after week with the game time he spends in the middle. If you watch our games, Gibbs starts in the middle pretty much all game every game...whereas other teams are able to rotate midfielders in the centre and give them a breather.

Get more midfield support around Gibbs and he'll tear games apart more often.

Also, we need Gibbs and Murphy to lead our midfield and teach the young mids coming through the ropes and take the pressure off them...cant have a midfield full of nothing but youngsters.

EDIT: I also notice most of the 'trade Gibbs' camp are happy to trade him for a pick in the teens...that's ridiculous. Gibbs is a proven performer who can dominate games...while history shows pick 13-17 will end up a bust or only a 'good' player a high % of the time.

It will be a bidding war, unless deals have already been agreed in principal.

Kreuz was pretty good on the weekend I thought and has remained fit all season - playing 20 games. After the injuries he's had over the last few seasons, I think he's earned a year to get back on track. Looking forward to seeing the big fella have a great off-season and hit 2017 in full flight.

All our last years recruits have now shown something to look forward to.

Weitering started like a house on fire but has slowed down somewhat. Star of the future.
CCurnow showed enough in the games he played for us to be confident that he'll be a handful for the opposition.
Silvagni: A player we had good reason to feel we wouldn't see this season....yet we now have him in our best 22....Amazing.
Cuningham playing better football in the seniors than he had in the VFL. Bolts a fan and that's good enough.
McKay has only had limited time in the VFL after back injury but the noise coming out of the CFC is strong for him.

Every chance that all 5 will be in our starting team next year.
