Won't get much sense out of Bomber fans while they have their richly deserved No 1 pick...too busy drooling over the PSD

Joke's on them! We're going to fix that tomorrow!

...

:'(

Which is?

If it's all too hard, maybe as was previously stated, lions and suns should agree to draft each other's players just to stop them leaving the state.

Off-topic, but that aside so many players walk out and demand to go home from NSW, Qld, SA clubs - that's a lot of clubs to claim they "should just fix themselves"... Ultimately other teams can draft home grown talent to cancel that out, and the academies are an improvement but they're also constantly getting whiteanted and there's no appetite in AFL HQ to really fight for them.

It'll only take once to stop the shafting. If JOM and his chosen club are dicks he can go to Brisbane or have another holiday this time without pay.

Ah, the good old "see who the poster supports and focus on that rather than the content of posts" approach.

You don't have to stoop so low. There are alternatives.

Don't underestimate your initial smart arse sarcastic post's impact mate.

Maybe part of the reason QLD footy is stuffed is because come trade time they are routinely raided and let other clubs and the players they lose treat them like bitches?

They should make a stand if the Lions get P1 starting with JOM.
Short memories.
Brisbane got Caracella off us after winning a premiership.
Took calthorpe in psd.
Ablett was nabbed by gc.
Queensland clubs need to build a culture that makes players want to stay.
The lions have proven it can be done.

The press release coming out of the Gold Coast is hysterical pantomime at best....The HUN also.

Everyone knew he was gone & where he's off to.

Kid hasn't played footy for 2 years & has a bung/dodgy knee....A first round draft pick will suffice....All else is hyperbole.

Really? I must be in the minority as I have no freaking idea. I'm thinking hawks or north?

Well Clarke and Dixon are mercenaries, Harley is a lost cause but whatever

I'd be more concerned about losing Prestia....At least he's played these past 2 seasons....Yet, lo & behold, no uproar?

All AFL industry Politics.

Prestia is quality but has given 6 years and has been open with the club and teammates and is clearly torn, CLASS ACT

The other guy has been, well let's say disingenuous

Hardly....We all knew he was going.

The only thing disingenuous here, is Gold Coast's public incredulity.

I didn't know you had insight in to the GCFC discussions he had with them, he was deceitful. Something your mob know a bit about

However I concede the Chairmans statement was poor

Yes. So GC give us 2 first round picks and a different player. Or 2 first rounders and a second.

Plus in your earlier deal Hawks get Omera and a first rounder! AHHHHH for Hill?

DERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Sshhh

I will agree with you unless he ends up at Essendon in which case you are wrong.

Spot on. Despite all the back patting that goes on in AFLHQ, the state of football in Queensland is a joke. Brisbane and Gold Coast need some form of retention program to stymie the constant exodus of players to the Eastern states. Also, if a player wants to leave, I have no issue with this, as it's been going on for eons and if I wanted to leave my job, I'd sure as hell hope that me boss would let me and not make a song and dance about it, but there should be no shafting; Dangerfield to Geelong, Hawthorn's stand on Hill, these are a couple of examples of this, even Treloar's move last year saw him want GWS adequately compensated. In practice, the AFL should jump in and mediate any go home cases so shafting is limited, particularly if dealing with notoriously prick clubs.

Big difference is you don't sign a contract at most work places.
If these players want to sign long term contracts they need to honour them otherwise just sign 1 year deals each year
