Agreed

Hopefully he gets himself right and we give him another crack

Such a shame that two young guys from the 2014 draft (waterman and cavka) never really got the chance to prove themselves due to injury/illness
Sorry this is a ruthless the AFL, tough decisions need to be made thats it. If we keep making soft decisions, we wont go anywhere

I don't have an issue with the decision to delist him. It's a shit situation for him and the club can't keep him on the list in the hope he gets better as he may not ever recover fully enough to cope with the demands of being an AFL player body wise

That said, I hope his health does improve enough that he can come back to football and if so he gets another shot, preferably with us

Has anyone read the story we might be after petrie. Fire everyone if thats true

I thought it was embarrassing that NM were allowing Petrie to put up those performances. Even worse, they allowed Petrie to basically advocate on his own behalf, citing previous finals performances to justify his inclusion.

NM conceded they were no hope in the finals and continued to play him. It reminded me of Brad Johnson's prelim finals at the bulldogs - utter selfishness from the player and a lack of backbone from the match committee.

true not as a assistant but as a development coach for WCE, that way he could coach EP .

He would not want to coach EP. Why leave a winning environment to go to a club that has no sole focus on winning. I hear what you are saying but it would be full time assistant to Simpson or stay at Subi.

They won't delist him and think he could cost more than a third.

He is a rookie, out of contract so needs to re-sign.

We offer more money and a longer deal. He doesn't sign a contract and then is delisted.

He's worth between a 2nd to 3rd rounder. Offer Norths a 3rd for a trade.

He strikes me as the type who would move interstate for the right deal.

Much better option than a 30 yr old to just plonk on the list for 1 year, can you even trade someone in for 1 year?

Four goals in a final where you got flogged isn't a bad performance.

He has business interests that he gives priority to doesn't he?
I think he also has a nephew that has health issues that he helps take care of. But we should at least be having a talk to him to see what can be done. He'd be a good midfield coach and has a bit of campaigner about him that would challenge the players

If he's not interested so be it but ask the question

The club might not like the bit of campaigner in him, the players would get all upset if he asked them to get their hands dirty lol

Yeah, can't believe anyone would even think of suggesting him.

As a one-year stopgap with the promise of an assistant coach role in 2018, Petrie wouldn't be the worst option as a ruck/forward to help Lycett.

He wasn't popular with teachers during school days, are suggesting that might still be the case?

I have a mate who works with him at Subi and he is a very hard task master but very popular with his players, he has the ability to confront his players on all sorts of levels, some apparently that could be deemed offensive but he then works through it with his players to get them where they want to be. He has worked wonders with some pretty lost young men and given them a real sense of purpose in their life.

I am suss but makes sense. We need someone for about 3/4 of a season till Nic Nat gets back.

Cost nothing and we only need him to be 2nd ruck and play forward. If he can kick 25 goals, job done.

Better off than throwing kitchen sink at Lobb when midfield needs fixing. We can't do both Lobb and fix midfield. Lobb we would have to overpay for potential and could end up like freo/Carlton and warnock. Do not trade heavily for speculative talent. 2 first round picks is for AA or near AA talent.

Another good game for Shai Bolton.

Hate how he's projected to be between our 1st and 2nd picks
if wants to leave and lobb is not part of that deal, we should then look for at an early second rounder at least.

Bennell
Colledge
Adamson
Lucas
Mcginnity
Waterman all delisted

does any one rate matt guelfi.

I watched a handful of wa's u/18's this year and was super impressed by fisher. size seems to be his concern but he is only a cm shorter than neale and plays a similair sort of game.
