I'm not suggesting we rush him, just that most people just assume he's done for 2017 when he should be recovered by the back quarter of the season.
Slightly more than I did when Priddis got injured in the lead up to the 2015 QFAnyone done any work?

Doctor Gero posted his stats/VFL votes for the season a while back and they were quite poor.
Think he's just a bit cooked from injuries but he's still very young so anything can happen

Reckon we could get him for pretty cheap but I have no ideaid like to think we can maybe wave a late 2nd/3rd rounder at geelong for next year as they are desperate for draft picks,
vardy can almost be our project ruckman and we dont have to wait that 3-4 years for him to mature like other rucks.
does that seem a better move than signing up that VFL ruck dude?
But can you also detail how you think Mitchell will fit into our existing midfield?
Yet no coach of the year. Its madness I tells ya.This is showing why Clarkson is considered one of the best thinkers in the game. He can be a little campaigner at times and pretty salty when things don't go his way but he sees opportunities where others see nothing. He is prepared to do not only what's best for his players but help his club in the process.
When Brad Hill suggested he might want to go play with his brother at Fremantle rather than spit the dummy Clarkson embraced it, allowed Hill to feel comfortable about it so he could concentrate on footy without the distraction of stressing about the reaction if he asked to move. Hawthorn will get pick 23 for Hill which they'll then be able to use as part of a deal to JOM
Knowing that Mitchell was talking about an eventual move to West Coast to coach he discusses the prospect of him moving there earlier to play which is a smart move for a player in the twilight of his career whilst Hawthorn free up cap space to get the players in they need to rejuvenate the side. Done smartly, like it looks like being, this trade is a good result for both clubs and the player
Smart cookie that Clarkson fella and we can only hope Simpson gets to build the same relationships with our players that Clarkson has
That in itself is pretty impressive.According to his manager we have been in dialogue with him for a few years in regards to coaching.
Can we start talking to Pendlebury/J Selwood/Hannebery.According to his manager we have been in dialogue with him for a few years in regards to coaching.
That in itself is pretty impressive.
Have some take it to the bank stuff on Mitchell. (Will not reveal source other than to say its immediate family)
Trade would've been done last year, but the Hawks refused to pay any portion of his 600k salary.
Mitchell thought this whole thing was dead in the water then and was actually blindsided by Clarko's approach this year.
Mitchell is actually pissed off about this deal and it only won't happen this year if the Hawks don't agree to pay at least $200k of the salary.
He is being forced out merely because the O'Meara and Mitchell salaries had already been agreed back in July and the Hawks TPP was worked out around at least 2 of the older boys retiring. When that did not happen this was Plan B.
Mitchell will return to Melbourne in 4-5 years time to senior coach at Hawthorn, but he's really jacked off how it's him that is being forced out when he considers 3 or 4 other senior players are finished and should've been moved on.
But he is really happy to be working with Simpson because they are such close mates. He would not join any other club.
Mitchell personally believes he has 2 years left in him, so retire and assistant coach is not a consideration.
Really shabby way to treat a champion, but no hiding behind Mitchell now for Lewis and co.
Take it or leave it. I have never ever posted a "take it to the bank" post on BF.
My source is immediate family to Sam so I have no doubt.
I was actually told about this Friday, but sat on it out of respect to them until it was public domain.
Sam is not unhappy about going to WA. Him and Simmo are very close and he wants to try something new in a "safe" environment.
He is unhappy because once this deal fell over last trade period, he thought it was done.
He also believes there are other senior players on the list that should've been forced to retire as Lake was.
It was Clarko that reached out to Simmo this year to revive the deal, not Sammy. Once he signed on for another year he made plans around playing in 2017, then leaving for WC at years end to be an assistant for 2-3 years, then return to Melbourne before the twins were in High School.
Yes, Sam is on $600k at Hawthorn. And that was after taking two haircuts of $100k the previous 2 years to help out.
Sam headed up to Byron Bay a few weeks ago after he was given the news by Clarko to clear his head and spend time with family.
He'll stay if the Hawks won't eat $200k, but he's unhappy that it was Hawthorn that did this seemingly behind his back after agreeing a contract.
Hence why Clarko felt the need to personally go and speak with Sammy about this at his home. It's being sold as help us help you.
He was in Byron Bay two weeks ago post being told the news from Clarko.
Don't forget, he's had 2-3 weeks to digest this now.
Sam is for a move, just not the way it was done after signing a deal.
Like I said, take it or leave it.
