I think it's more or less accepted that we'll get pick 13 and a second rounder [if they can get that for Lyons] off the crows.

If Zac goes we should get a second rounder for him as well.

We can then trade two of those second rounders to the Giants for Marchbank and pickett, or ontrade them for another pick in the low teens and give that to the Giants.

That leaves us with pick 5 and pick 13 and a spare second rounder in the 20s left, in addition to the Giants lads. Plus all our 2017 picks are intact.

How could anybody be unhappy with that outcome?

Really gives us another crack at continuing to build a core group of young talented players like we did last year.

Why have contracts then? :)

A players contract is set out on an individual basis and not a family one and even so, Lauren was around when Gibbs would have discussed this with her.
I know things change but a commitment is a commitment.

My girlfriend wants to go home.....my mates miss me.....my dog howls at nights without me....where does it end?......and then the big cards get dealt out?........."I am so disgruntled". Disgruntled at what exactly? If you're going to be disgruntled, take it out on yourself....you signed the ******* contract in good faith, for yourself and the club.

We should take this 'disgruntled' clause to the armed forces........"I'm not going over there because if I do....I will be disgruntled" :)
Time to come back down to reality Harks. We're talking about people here, not unthinking and unfeeling machines. Being able to just say LOLNOPE CONTRACT isn't always possible in the real world.

Exactly. Trading gibbs gives us two first rounders, two second rounders and two third rounders to play with. Adding in a second rounder for Zac gives us three second rounders.

In a draft that bats fairly deep down into the 30s this could be the draft that sets us up for a decade.

Add onto that we also have two former first round picks that want to come to is this year as well.

I can turn picks five and 13 and a pick in the 20s into three pics in the teens. Add on top of that the two giants boys and that's five first round draft picks this year.

You want to reset the list? You want depth? That's how you do it.

What's this AFL mediating garbage I'm hearing???

Contracts scrawled on beer coasters aren't valid???

Perfectly valid as long as it is clear that there is an offer followed by acceptance and there is consideration invovled.
and totally invaliid if just one of those three ingredients can be questioned.

Handle is Nat Southby.

I wasn't exaggerating when I said she tweeted our picks the night before the draft...How we laughed when she said we were taking someone named Blaine Boekhurst.

You mean this one?

I[emoji173]️Nat

Who goes for Sydney and lives in New York City and openly says Sydney is better than Melbourne?

That one?

Whilst there where whispers over the past 8 weeks of Bryce wanting to return to Adelaide for family reasons it was not considered serious. We were taken by surprise at the Crows announcement on Monday as we believed the talk would pass and Bryce indicated all was ok in his exit meeting.

The club and Bryce have spoken over the past couple of days and it's been made clear that if any trade were to occur it would need to significantly benefit the club - Bryce whilst preferring to return to Adelaide will accept our position and fulfill his contract if this is the case.

We do expect Adelaide to up the offer early next week.
How can they "up" the offer next week if the draft period ends on Sunday?

Dunno what half of those big words mean.

Better not be another adventure in AFL policy on the fly.

Aye, aye, aye. So this amounts to Gibbs being a disgruntled employee.

Gibbs, who has three years of a contract he willingly signed is now disgruntled with the Carlton Football Club, because the club is doing it's business properly and wanting him to fulfil his obligation.............but the family isn't happy? Wow.

God forbid we grow up and start sending players off to all parts of the country on a whim as other sports do....won't so many girlfriends be so unhappy....What to do?

Totally agree with your sentiments.

and might I add - the sooner the AFL allow Clubs to trade players whenever and to whoever they like - THE BETTER:mad: Idf players want to dance the dance - let themn join the 21st century and leave thier 19th century bargaining crapola where it belongs.

enough is enough of players screwing Clubs around!!!!

I wouldn't be trading down pick #5. With that pick we get a shot at a Brodie or Taranto. Very important for us.

Take #5 and #13 to the draft. They should be our key untradeable draft picks.

#5 - Brodie/Taranto
#13 - Scrimshaw/Venables/SPP

All 5 could really add to our side. A pick in the 20's could land us Clarke/Kerr. #43 I'm hoping we get Sproule.

Next year we're in a good position because we can trade our 2018 1st for an additional top 10 pick.

Yep.

Tweeting all three of our live picks the night before the draft is not luck. Particularly when Boekhurst was a massive reach. Until proven otherwise, I just assume she's really Andy McKay

She gets amazing info that's for sure!

Maybe she does but I feel her emotions have gotten the better of her this time.

Look, the crows as a club are far from perfect (we had Trigg for 15 years FFS) but the tweet of hers was far from correct.

Well you asked a simple question and I gave you the simplest answer possible - no charge.

Then make player contracts transparent.

Can go on the NFL sites and find any player, and his deal for the past 20 years.

Well with no player's seemingly on the table from the Crows that we want, I'd rather SOS just focus on a deal like this -

Pick 13 + Crows 2017 1st Round for Gibbs + 24

Realistically probably something around 14-18 in next years draft as well upgrading our 2nd round pick this to use for Marchbank, Stewart and Pickett.

Crows get Gibbs and a reasonable first pick in this years draft.

To say she has runs on the board when it comes to Carlton is an enormous understatement. Nor does she seem to care one iota about us.

She's proven on numerous occasions she knows someone inside the club, and it's not Captain Carlton.
