If given a choice between starting the season and a $35 million gift, I would prefer the AFL's 35 $ million gift to the Hawks via the Tasmanian experiment, but I guess beggars (Carlton) can't be choosers.

If Carlton lose both Gibbs and Touhy they'd have to be hugely likely to finish bottom 3 I would have thought. They'll probably be fielding super-young teams most weeks, like say Brisbane did this year. Clubs like Essendon, Freo and Gold Coast ought to fly past them if they have decent injury runs.

Could be a bit of a spanking if Richmond can keep it together for at least one week.
