He still expects a suitable player to form part of the deal, which it almost certainly won't.

It doesn't matter what the nomination system is for clubs who can't hold onto highly rated talent and can't attract highly rated mature aged players.

Also, it's super easy to say 'change the landscape', but the reality is it's damn near impossible to do it without opening up a bunch of loopholes and other downsides, and that's before you even get to the potential legal risks.

Then include anti poaching rules so clubs can only talk to players that aren't under their contracts during Trade and FA time. It will stop a whole lot of situations like this where clubs promise players everything then can't find the right capital to get the trade through. Sure it might be the Suns fault we can't attract talent but it isn't our fault the Hawks can't find a deal that matches our wishes.

Theres no point trying to poach players from other clubs if nobody wants to go there. The fact that the Chairman is involved so publicly is a testament to the way the club is run - highly unprofessionally!
None of the other Chairman behave in this manner - Marcus Ashcroft is the List Manager and he has been treated so disrespectfully and unprofessionally in this Omeara deal.

But I was serious - its very hard trading players there.

They went into the trade period saying they want players and yet they will likely walk out with picks 4,6,8 and Pierce Hanley. There is a very big problem there

Why wouldn't they be spending the year trying to improve the culture of the club? Why weren't they making a big play for Sammy M as player/assistant coach? He would have been terrific for the club.

Compare it to GWS - champion team, great coach, good culture.
