Lame. You are deflecting because Geelong have the worst depth and youth in the comp now. Their best 22 has taken a hit as well and will rely on the likes of VFL standard players in Ruggles, McCarthy and Murdoch to make up the numbers next year. The fact that Aaron Black is your #2 forward (he'd be #9 at Hawthorn) is a massive concern as well.

Also Sam Mitchell in the last 3 years has missed 15 games from Hawthorn. We've won 12 of them (and came damn close to beating Sydney in one of the 3 losses where we had no Hodge, Lake, Rioli and Gibson went down just after half time - and it was our 4th game in 18 days and 2nd straight interstate game). We'll be alright to start the year.

I can't believe you are naive enough to believe our puff piece around a round 4 return either. He'll probably play round 1 for Box Hill, impress the shit out of everyone like Burton did last year after his 2nd game in the VFL and boom straight into the team.

Our other two lines are very solid plus we have enough good resting forwards and swingmen. Hawks have a good forward line but their backs and mids are brittle as anything.

Both were carrying injuries at the back-end of last year....But, yes....All things being equal, this will be their Swansong.

Howe & Burton will replace them.

As for Burgers....He hasn't slowed-up & is still the no 1 ranked player for his position in the comp, according to champion data.

Rioli isn't what he used to be and if Vickery will offer any sort of improvement to your forward line that speaks volumes about the trouble you're in this year.

Rioli is just entering his prime at 27, & is coming off his best year to date....Ditto Puopolo....Breust & Gunston combined, will make it the most formidable line-up in the biz....With Big Boy, Rough & Ty rotating through the rucks & KP forwards.....It'll be a supremely well-balanced attack.

Rough & Cyril are top 10 comp-wide, with Breust & Gunston both top 30-40....Can't say the same for the Cats forward-line.
