Braydon Preuss - Knee in the back

Loved it. Ball dropped steeply. Thurlow was in the air. Hadn't marked it by the time Preuss left the ground, in fact had only marked it just before contact.

Was it nasty and mean? Sure. But it's also a very large human going in for a spoil and using his knee as protection as we are taught to do as kids.

0 weeks.

I agree in this circumstance it probably shouldn't be looked at, the only thing is does that set the precedent for any player to charge in with a knee in the back late to the contest? The risk of injury is high even though he was not in the contest. I don't the the AFL will let it slide without a fine at least.

It looks worse in slow motion, I didn't think much of it at the time because it was a mongrel punt that just dipped in the end and he looked like he misread it and jumped a bit early and was in two minds about what to do in the end. 109cm 115kg ruckmen aren't the most graceful things in motion.

I don't think he should have been fined, the on-field penalty was sufficient. I don't think he intended to clean him up, he has pile driven Swallow in a spear tackle at training, when he has intent the player will know about it.

Dirty prick Scott Thompson though should get rubbed out.

Thompson was fortunate to only get 2 weeks down to one. It was assessed as intentional, high and low impact. Low impact because Dangerfield was not injured - but diving at a players head, who is pinned, with your elbow could cause a broken jaw or eye socket.

He should definitely get a week for that.

The intent was there to hurt the opponent and he laughed about it afterward.
Hahahaha he should get a week because "he laughed about it afterwards" this is pure gold.

109 cm? Geez, if Preuss looks that big, standing at 171 cm, I could dominate the ruck, but my coach insists on sticking me in a back pocked.

Optical illusion. :P
