Simpkin > Ziebell already. What a sniping potato headed **** that Ziebell campaigner is. Lays a big bump on someone once he can't affect the kick/contest because he's a ****ing plodder that didn't reach the man on time, just about every week too. Did it to Roo twice. He's on that very short list along with Good Bloke Hodgey for "brave" players in the league who I wouldn't feel bad about seeing get cleaned up majorly in play.

Is Long a future mid fielder or stay at home forward type?

In two years time they will be lamenting about his lack of pace. The modern game means high speed, good disposal and big engine are the key essentials for a mid. Size and physicality are the extra bonus.

I don't even know why they introduced it. What was the issue with 3rd man up last year? If anything it would've helped clear congestion and if a team wants to go 3rd man up so be it, it'll leave one less player around the ball.

It became an absolute farce today when Bont signalled he was going up and North got penalised for it.

Doesn't the AFL realise that if they introduce a new rule or new interpretation the coaches will find ways to exploit it? They'll use whatever advantage they can, especially in such an even competition. Just reeks of a 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' scenario. AFL wants ruckman to have more of a say in the result of a game - maybe those days are over. Let the game evolve naturally.

They reckon it was seriously because Tippett broke his jaw and it wasn't even the cause, it was a freak accident. No trial in the JLT just straight in when no one was consulted. There is talk now of only being allowed to trail new rules and only bring them in every three years. You thought KB was the problem but he's gone, the rules committee are like the umpires and just want their own bit of fame. Clowns.

I like Ziebell when he's not playing us, he's a hard campaigner that goes in head first. I'd love him at the Saints.

Was introduced to protect the ruckman which IMO was well overdue. The ruckmen had become nothing more than stepladders and it couldn't have been enjoyable positioning yourself under the ball only to have the third man up drive his knees into your kidneys at every stoppage.
If they simply made it a free kick as soon as there was more than one player from a team contesting the ruck and forgot about the whole idea of nominating it would work better.

I love this! I've got an 8 am lecture on Mondays which is just complete filler 90% of the time. I usually just go and look at other team's BigFooty forums reading the melts after they've lost a match. Last year was Port and Richmond but this year has been much better. Hawthorn are 0-3 (maybe even 0-4 ), Sydney are done, Dreamons might lose, Doggies are upset they didnt win by more.
