At least there are worse places from which to observe utter capitulations like that:

Melbourne was big. Disagree with the Tigers, as we pissed away a 30 point lead against them and we should have lost. We beat up Essendon and Carlton after really slow starts (I don't rate either Essendon or Carlton). We have a young team, but they aren't the problem, it is the older players who have failed to show leadership on the field. The kids look like they are trying hard.

Our best win of the year was against the Bulldogs.

Flat track bullies get beaten by bottom 10 sides like Hawthorn and Essendon in Melbourne and then destroy bottom 10 sides at home. We don't do that.

I honestly don't see the problem with Spurr. Actually provides physicality and good ball use in that backline in comparison to others. Doesn't do anything week to week to really warrant the punching bag tag yet.
Then I suggest you watch closer.

I disagree. For me you get the tag of a bully, if you beat up inferior opposition and you give no effort against top-level opponents.

Obviously we aren't as bad as the dickhead Eagles, but the team needs to start acting like it gives a s**t against top-level teams.

That's fine, just don't call our players "weak girls" because you look like a total flog.

Just being realistic at this point. Has been nothing but dead-weight and a serial offender to many blunders in the back-line but has been gifted games for 3 seasons straight in hopes of magically finally having a breakout. Would not get a game for any other club in the competition due to his size and strength and won't be here next year so what I say now shouldn't make you upset.

When you send him his Christmas card this year please jot my name down too, cheers cobber.

Or y'know we are in reality a middling to poor team that can only compete against other middling/poor teams while getting smashed by better ones.

Eagles are called flat track bullies because (rightly or wrongly) everyone reckons they've got more ability than they show when not on a flat track. Imo while today was obviously a bad day this is our level.

I made it quite clear my issue was you calling him "a weak girl". Your above rant managed to avoid doing so, so I'm actually pretty chuffed. Thanks.

Tex Walker was horrible, we kept Cameron and Betts reasonably quiet considering.

Still lost by 100

Meh. Lost to the Premiers at the start of a 3 year re-build. Not surprising. Actually gives us some really good info to add to what we already know.

Weller, Tucker, Hamling, Hill, McCarthy, Hughes and Blakely all look entrenched in the re-build. Possibly Grey and Kirsten as well.

Need to go to the draft and find upgrades/replacements for Taberner, Crozier, D.Pearce, Griffin, Igbo. Possibly Suttcliff as well.

Still desperately need a CHF

Major concern was that we were older than the Crows tonight. Need to stop playing blokes who aren't going to be there in 2 years (or won't improve), and give the likes of Cox, Ryan, Logue, Deluca, Collins a crack. Find out what they can do.

We were the underdog in all of those games we won bar Carlton. Only in hindsight can you say we were a superior side. A flat track bully flogs inferior teams at home /favourable conditions (on a flat track) then against equally poor opposition where conditions dont favour you, you lose. Losing to superoir opposition is not so much an issue. Its losing games you should win.

Well that was a pretty disappointing effort.. after half time I'd have been happy to see us show some fight and close the gap to 40-50.

Our backline is shambolic under constant pressure and Adelaides forward line are too elite to let us go unpunished.

But the midfield is where we should have done so much better - it's clear that B. Hill, S. Hill and Walters are not wet weather specialists, but we got very little from our big guns to make any sort of amends (Mundy = 7 disposals WTF?!!)

When we're getting such poor forward delivery McCarthy, Kersten and Taberner have got to make themselves much more useful in other areas of the match.

I guess after the Round 2 thumping our long-term future as a competitive club was in serious doubt, we made wholesale changes and it paid dividends.

Same thing has happened this week and it needs to be the next catalyst for change. I don't think 5-6 like last time but we need back 2-3 to come in and prime them up for the foreseeable future.

We seem to have lost a little bit of the magic from having a 'fresh' new look with some other seniors sliding back into the team slowly. It's time to get the youth firmly entrenched in the side.

Just getting my definition from here: http://www.dictionary.com/browse/flat-track-bully

edit: I am sure we were the Favs going into the Essendon game.

The more explanations Banchez gets the less he understands.
Pointless.

lol. From the biggest pseudo-intellectual himself. I'm surprised you haven't drowned in your own dribble yet.

Last week I was crucified for suggesting our percentage accurately represented how good we are. We have been belted by teams vying for top 4 spots. This is not an anomaly like others have suggested.

We must confront the horrible truth: We have turned into flat-track bullies like the Eagles.
it was the worst crucifixtion ever.

But it isn't. This one game doesn't discredit the 6 wins we've had.

6 wins which bar Bulldogs at home have been against sides that I'm sure you'll agree can hardly be called serious challengers this year. Some great wins for the club yes, but doesn't hide the fact we are in a rebuild.

no one is saying we aren't in a rebuild, we are. Therefore losses like this are going to happen from time to time
