Reimers kicked 8 goals in one game. He aint the worst.
Against the gold coast in their first year though. Then his reaking head popped up in that shite Dean Robinson say that again interview, instantly to the bottom of the heap in my book. He's just got a really kickable face.

In close we crumbled, turn overs everywhere, lucky to be in it for as long as we were

Yes, he is.

Out of the 1000 odd to ever pull on the Guernsey, he is the worst.

I know they lacked opportunities but Stewart and Hooker were like a ball on a chain last night. Both were poor from the limited opportunities they did have.

I really don't see how Langford permanently forward can do any worse and he's more mobile. Shit even TBC can clunk the few Hooker takes. Hooker is not that much more mobile than TBC.

As for Hooker possibly struggling down back, well he may at first as Hurley did. Hurley said he really struggled with timing his punches and marks in the first couple of games. Of course Hooker missed a fair bit of pre season so may made things worse.

Yeah may not be the worst footballer (and he wasn't) to pull on the guernsey but certainly is well in front as the biggest **** to pull on our guernsey.

Ah - Won contested ball and clearances which have been our achilles heel - Somehow smashed in inside 50's - Stats are not everything.

Certain players gifting the ball to them every time (I think remarkably actually every time) they got it in the middle will hurt inside 50 entries.

Credit to the Tigers though, they were terrific in keeping the ball inside their forward half of the ground. Just couldn't get it out. Considering their narrow losses they've been the most consistent side this season.

Al very good points.

Hooker had a down day but I think he's been playing his role so hopefully he can redeem himself next week.

Agree - I had hooker in the votes previously but he had a mare yesterday. If he played closer to his best we win - we were in the game all night.

That's the frustrating bit all we need was a good 10 minute patch and we would have won.

Well yeah it's frustrating but at least it shows we are still going ok. I'm not one to accept mediocrity but it was hardly doom and gloom last night. We could have even put them to the sword early - we were 3 goals up and could have been 5. Having said that Richmond did blow a lot of opportunities themselves

Hartley was rubbish

Was a bit better tonight but still losing his opponent in marking contests - Expect he'll be replaced by Ambrose.

Nah mate you're misunderstanding. I love the presence of Hooks up there, even when he's not kicking straight he'll more often than not bring it to ground. He was just having a shocker.

It's not like any forward sits at home permanently these days, it would be a slight adjustment to the structure to get his hands on the footy and get him grabbing them cleanly, then swing him back forward. The hope would be he'd get his confidence up and his hands clean, he might shut Riewoldt down and get his confidence down at the same time, swinging the momentum back to us, which is just about the aim of the game atm.

Being unpredictable would be a huge advantage imo. Instead of opposition coaches focussing only on what Hooker will be doing up forward, let their heads ache worrying about what he brings to the back half. Strongest player we have by a mile. Hurley is more than capable of swinging fwd. The more the oppo coaches have to plan for the better.

We have an effective forward line, nearly the most effective forward line based on efficiency - Why would you change it, to support a defence that is the least of our worries.

I hear you, but I think with the Carlton game we were just thoroughly out-coached, tbh - they setup extremely well behind the ball considering the conditions, and have performed very solidly since we played them when you take a real look at their form. Bolton knows what he is doing and probably deserves a bit more credit considering their list IMO.

But yes, when we get done we get done in the middle. Our contested possession/clearance numbers are a real issue, and have been for years, really.

McGrath was fantastic tonight, but with Jobe fading I agree a lack of clearance players is our biggest concern IMO

But we won contested ball and clearances - There are many nuances in AFL footy - Think our biggest issue is inconsistency in disposal from the defensive half - The strangest thing is disposal in the forward half is deadly.

Just because we can. Not many teams have an AA defender playing full forward. McGovern gets shifted around the ground as required. If he's not having an influence up one end you've got nothing to lose throwing him back for a quarter. Everyone's obsessing over the structure.

Not screaming for the game plan to be scrapped ffs just get Hooker behind the ball if it's not going in there so he can at least duke a couple out in front and get the hands warm. Instead of standing in there all night then when he does get a chance, he scrubs it because he aint took a mark since the warm up. Some of ya'll whack need to check ur logic... "BUT WHATABOUT THE STRUCTURE YOU'LL **** UP THE STRUCTURE" give it a rest.

Your logic is to move Hooker "just because we can"?

Most people believe that both the defence and forward line are the least of our problems so why tamper with it?

Just because we can just doesn't cut it.

More space and a lot more movement in the forward half.

Richmond are having a thick period and that's cool, but their list is meh. They can have this one and we'll take the next few years to come, thanks.
a season like this is ideal for richmond. They will win games on their effort alone.
We are a better skilled team but play with nowhere near the effort and intensity at the contest that they do.

Interesting to note, we're 6th on the scores for ladder. In company with Port, Geelong, Adelaide, Melbourne and GWS.
We are also 5th on the scores against ladder. With gold coast, hawthorn, brisbane and Freo (who jumped us after being smashed by 100).

Our midfield, it giveth and it taketh away.

Maybe people should wrote to JW and suggest Hooker should play in defense ? It would be very revealing info and helpful.

If certain posters did that they may find it easier to stop repeating it on here ad nauseum like nobody is aware of their "thoughts" on the matter.

Our midfield is so slow on the spread once it's gets out that's needs to be the focus at draft and trade periods this year.
