Simpson gave him a pretty friendly handshake at the end of the game , so who knows. Maybe he's actually doing something of value

Because he's mates with two ex-chairmen from the 90s and an underling?

I'm sure those three blokes currently have a massive say in the contract of the CEO.
Do you think I am extreme thinking it is an old boys club? Help me then to understand why Trev gets his son a job. Help me understand why Miller is made welfare officer after his business went belly up. Help me to understand the structures in place that scream of an autocrat.

Transparency it is not. Closed circle to those that may have differing views to Trev so he employs yes men. And yes, this is input from people who know not just speculation.

Keep believing it is healthy in the nest is like believing we are on the cusp this year.

I didn't say it wasn't a boys club. I said Nisbett being mates with two long-ex board members and one underling wouldn't have any bearing on his position.

For the record, I believe good corporate governance suggests periodic renewal in top positions. It's why the chairman is only allowed to serve a few years. That should extend to the CEO.

I just don't get how we have one rule for one position of power and not the other.

Our next CEO needs to be from outside of the club and hopefully really soon.
We'll be playing in a new stadium in 2018 and by the end of that year will be moving to brand new training facilities. Given the work Nisbett would have put into both its prudent and fitting that he oversee the transition to each

Once that's done it would be prudent and fitting that he bow out gracefully to let someone new lead us through the beginning of a new era. He's been at the club since he was appointed football manager in 1989 and has been CEO since 1999 when Brian Cook left

To say a change is due is an understatement

Nah I completely understand that bit. 2019 season I expect a new CEO. He can't do a Priddis and hang around for a new office in the new facilities.

To keep this thread on track CEO Tim Gepp........

I have been around successful large corporates that would move the outgoing CEO to a special project outgoing role to deliver on the legacy and then allow the new CEO to take control earlier.

That would be my desired changeover

I heard Tim Gepp is being groomed for the new CEO role.

You shouldn't joke about these things

It's entirely plausible that when Nisbett does retire as CEO his replacement will come from within. If it does that person will be Craig Vozzo

Will never happen as usually comes from somebody already on the Board and who has an understanding of the Club, and is also voted in by the Board. That's is just how things work. The same goes for Head Coach but of course he does not come from the Board, but has experience in the coaching caper, and is elected by the Board.

Err, no. Across the league CEO's are appointed from outside the club more often than not. It'd be pretty rare for an existing board member to be appointed as CEO, in fact I can't really think of any.

O

Out of curiosity how old is Trevor Nisbett, as if he's not at retirement age can see him going on for sometime yet unless HE decides to pull the pin early. He may end up Just being a Board member, or he may up and away and go on his world tour with his family:rolleyes:.

Turned 60 a couple of weeks back

My bad - was thinking of the President as from my understanding that's how Presidents get elected but are limited to a maximum term (of 3-4 years?). Perhaps it's a shame they don't apply the same maximum term to the CEO, however Nisbett has done a very good job with the Club financially, no matter how much many of us would like to see him move on. Good CEOs are not that easy to find and while Nisbett continues to tick all the boxes as required by the Board, cannot see him going anywhere soon.
