I think we are at a stage where we need to get as many proven quality young mids into the list asap so don't mind if we trade away first rounders to achieve that. This and next years first rounders for Kelly and Hopper. Just do it. Makes more sense than using said picks on raw kids.

I'm with you on this one.Also try and find a couple more mid's from either the state league's or by DFA. There are few decent ones out there.

Does anyone every worry that all this Kelly to Carlton is a bit of a smoke screen and were actually only definitely in to get the J Kelly from Adelaide (who was offered by the crows last year in the Gibbs deal).

Saad is a solid player but he's no match winner.

He's not a midfielder. He's a small defender whose pressure numbers match the eye test. We have better on the list already. He doesn't offer anything that we can't already get from Docherty, Byrne, Sheehan, Williamson, Pickett. I'd rather develop those players than overpay for a contracted Saad.

If we recruit Saad im all for it.

Bloke is exciting, defensively needs plenty of work but with simpson gone this year or next, he could be a good replacement on a back flank along with Williamson. Allowing doc to push up to a wing and provide more run through the middle.

A second rounder is fair for Saad. Especially an early second.

And he definitely offers more than Sheehan and I still think the club sees Pickett on the wing or forward.

Byrne and Williamson both good but young, Simpson nearing the end and doc can play more midfield minutes.
