I would not take a second for casboult right now. He is so important to our structure. Would you take an equivalent for him in last years draft around pick 25-30. No chsnce. I'd want a top 20 pick if possible. If he played next to jack reiwoldt right now they'd be top 2 on the ladder. If he played next to Darcy Moore (they'd still be out of the 8) or a joe Daniher (they'd be easily inside the 8).

Casboult is a free agent, which means if you're not willing to take a second round pick (likely to fall within that compensation bracket) then you're willing to pay him 500-600k to stay.

Think people are underrating Saad's defensive capabilities - shown plenty of glimpses that he could be a top small defender, which we definitely lack - Williamson and Pickett would be wasted in lock down roles.

Saad has pace that sides struggle to counter. He's attacking and looks a terrific long flat kick that Charlie and Harry will love.

Defensively he's about 4/10, which he can work on but my biggest problem with him is he doesn't push through tough situations and goes missing in the heat.

But if Sos is excited so am I .

So not much worse than Jason Johannisen, and a helluva lot cheaper.

;)

Adam Saad?
Are you blokes serious?

He would not be in our best 22.

Are you serious? I don't think you have watched him play.

Gotta realise GC suck and we would be able to unlock his potential in a better structured side with better culture.

And it's not 'us bloke's' making this up, there's credible rumours sos wants him so that should be enough for everyone here.

We have plenty of half back flankers. What we lack is quick half forwards who take the game on, that is, are prepared to run offensively at teams, take a bounce and go for the big sticks. If he is suitable yes to Saad otherwise we have other holes to fill in our playing list.

Would love to get Saad. The only knock on him I can think of is that he is a little bit predictable. Great player nonetheless.

I think he offers something we are lacking, particularly with a bit of schooling in Bolts' team defensive setup.

But I seriously hope he's well down the priority list behind Kelly and Hopper. Those types will be the difference between Ws and Ls. Saad's a bit of icing sugar dusted over the cake.

I'm sure SOS will have all the ducks lined up appropriately.

Who said he has to be a match winner?

He's a contracted player. Generally speaking you pay overs to get contracted players via trade. The only players I'd be willing to pay overs for in a trade better be players capable of turning a game.

If SOS satisfies our other needs first and can then get him without giving overs then I'd be more welcome to a trade. But we have much more pressing needs than a cherry on top player which Saad is.

Im sure he does too lining up his fall back options if the higher priorities fall through .
Saad as mentioned elsewhere as cover for Docherty to the middle sounds wise .

Reckon you've just described Pickett .
Let's give him this year to get his body right and regain full confidence in it , then , following a full pre season over the summer , we'll unleash another weapon next year !!
