Living in Adelaide i see quite a fair bit of these guys, Atkins plays only because their is no alternative if lyon was still their atkins would not be playing. The Crows midfield bats 3 deep (sloane, crouches) thats it. Wigg cant even get in the best in the 2's. Atkins is a downhill skier who make really costly turnovers when the pressure is on.

Wiggs performances this year:
Harrison Wigg: 21 disposals, five tackles, four rebound 50ms, three marks, two clearances, one inside 50m

Harrison Wigg: 30 disposals, seven marks, seven inside 50ms, four rebound 50ms, four clearances, two tackles

Harrison Wigg: 21 disposals, six inside 50ms, four marks, three tackles, one clearance, one rebound 50m, one goal

Harrison Wigg: 28 disposals, six inside 50ms, four marks, three rebound 50ms, two clearances

Harrison Wigg: 38 disposals, 13 clearances, nine inside 50ms, five tackles, four marks, two rebound 50ms

Harrison Wigg: 22 disposals, eight tackles, five marks, five inside 50ms, two clearances, one rebound 50m, one goal

Harrison Wigg: 18 disposals, six rebound 50ms, four inside 50m, three tackles, three marks, two clearances

Harrison Wigg: 30 disposals, nine clearances, six inside 50ms, five tackles, four rebound 50ms, three marks, two goals

Harrison Wigg: 15 disposals, five tackles, four clearances, three inside 50ms, one rebound 50m

Harrison Wigg: 25 disposals, six clearances, five marks, four tackles, four rebound 50ms, three inside 50ms

Seems to get a fair bit of the ball?

I will have to call BS on your "Atkins plays only because their is no alternative". Lyons was there last year and Atkins played 24 games.

Will say it again, it was a list of 6 options, you don't have to like all of them, just 1, as I was responding to a post on who could fill the void if Simpson did not play on nest year

Ok
I'm here to apologise and admit I was wrrr...rrrr....rrrong!
I believe it was HARKER or maybe mediumsizered that I argued with concerning Steven Trigg and his standing in the game and his appointment at our club.
I was and am listening to him on SEN.
He is a pretty remarkable speaker and quality mind regarding football across all facets of the game and the CFC.
He's obviously been an enormous part of the engine that has put our club back on the correct path.
So I stand corrected in my initial skepticism and cynicism of the man and am here to hang my head and admit I was absolutely wrong!!:$
:):thumbsu::rainbow:
There was a lot of Crows' supporters putting out some very negative messages about Trigg immediately following our club appointing him as CEO. They were willing to blame Trigg for all the ills at the club (including the Tippett debacle) however none of them were really in a position to objectively assess how well Trigg had performed in his position as CEO at the Crows.

The AFL keeps a very close eye on senior appointments made at the AFL clubs & a club like ours whose performance would have been of great concern to the AFL would never have been allowed to appoint a CEO who the AFL did not think was an appropriate appointment given our situation.

Some say Trigg was made a scape goat re Adelaide / Tippett fiasco

Football Clubs are no different to small and medium sized businesses - except they have the benefit of guaranteed revenue from the AFL and the opportunity to add to this by increasing membership ( variable revenue base). Another great benefit (difference) is that the market for Carlton's product ( lets stick with the analogy for a few minutes) is fairly stable in that interest in AFL as entertainment is within fairly tight limits stable.

Now given the advantages of this type of economic stability - what can go wrong at a Club like Carlton or nay other Club?

and the answer is

Management.

The easiest job in the world is to fix something that is badly broken - because genius isn't required.

The Board has to be congratulated because they decided to modernize the management of the Club - lets be clear this means you part time social workers stop truying to make decisions and let professionals do the job.

In comes Trigg ( whom many criticised) in comes SOS ( whom many criticised) in comes Bolton ( whom everyone was happy with because it wasn't Malthouse).

Carlton has followed correct process and suprise surprise - the results are starting to come through on many fronts.

People will be shocked to see Carlton go through the 50K membership and fly through to over 60K over the next couple of years - I wont. All that can derail this rejuvenation is SOS and Bolton failing to keep positive momentum. I give that a low probability.

Call me an optimist if you like.
You sir, are an optimist

What happens when Sloane requests a trade to Victoria at the end of the season? Crows have missed the boat completely on the Gibbs trade.

Seems lots of clubs are after Hopper now and we weren't even mentioned as one of them.

Kelly, Hopper, Balic and Saad would fill several of our most pressing needs. Would be over the moon if SOS could pull that off. But I don't know whether that will be likely to happen.

Will certainly be a very interesting trade period. Clean your F5 key boys; lots of refreshing to come.
My F5 isn't speaking to me after last trade period

So does Boek

Again I will say, he is best 22 in a side that will play finals and have minimal injuries. All players have limitations. On another note, it was a list of options, perhaps someone else on that list may satisfy

I get he is in Port's starting 22 but I'd argue he isn't best 22. Hinkley plays favourites and is either stubborn or a slow learner.

SOS has the magic keys to the GWS kingdom. If we want someone bad enough, they will come.
2015 - Plowman and the rest
2016 - Marchbank and the rest
2017 - ???

People might point to us not getting Adam Treloar, but SOS wasn't going to sell the farm 2 years ago before our rebuild hadn't ever properly begun.

A lot of talk about potential changes to our backline structure next year and beyond (re debating Saad's inclusion/ Doc into the guts etc) and it has me thinking the impact of the looming loss of Kade Simpson has been understated on here. He plays a huge role in our side. Do we have a ready made "go to" half back replacement?(ie Could a Cunningham type* be groomed?)... If not, are there any younger Simpson types we can go to. (A younger Suckling type or GWS' Wilson perhaps.)
* I'm in favour of looking within. I have a bit of time for Cunningham yet see him being the underrated,trade-vulnerable, squeezed out mid - as Jarryd Lyons was from the Crows. Cunningham has a few Simpson traits I believe. Thoughts??

I really want to trial Billy Smedts in that role... No troll.

Wondering if we as supporters would think Bolton was a slow learner if we were sitting 4th with 7 games to go and 5 of which were at home. :thumbsu:

Bolts is a much better coach. Given the talent at their disposal, Port have massively underperformed since mid 2014. Alberton was 20 mins of football away from a riot on Sunday afternoon.
