No GWS wont swap them for that. I know that. We would have to trade with another club first. But I reckon Gallucci would get a late first. Milera too. Doedee a mid 2nd. Atkins and Cameron were named in the rumours about the Gibbs deal which is why I added them. We have 2 firsts, if we could add another late first then that should be pretty close to getting a deal with GWS. They are in a similar position to us with Lever and Gov here. Those players aren't going to just be traded to wherever the Crows or GWS want them to. Once they name a club then the options are pretty limited. Will GWS send him to the draft instead of taking 3 first round picks? I doubt it.

I doubt your assessments there, Cameron would be the one that would attract most interest from clubs IMO, his best is A grade, the problem is we generally only see it fleetingly. I doubt your assessments there, Cameron would be the one that would attract most interest from clubs IMO, his best is A grade, the problem is we generally only see it fleetingly. Gallucci with his limited exposure to AFL level and others from his draft already showing good AFL form would be very doubtful too. I know that you would have preferred Berry, but he looks to be a tad slow and more inside. With the Crouches, Sloane and now Greenwood and Hampton I am a bit more optimistic on our inside players. I think Gallucci can add something to the outside with speed but also getting in and under when its his turn. If this years draft is as slim pickings as you say, why wouldn't a club want to add a slightly more known quantity in Gallucci than going to the draft with a pick in the range 14-18. I think he would have played a lot more AFL if he was at a bottom half of the table club.

If it cost you Gallucci + Doedee for a 1st and you could pick up Kelly with that and our 2 firsts and if we could also do Cameron plus Atkins for Gibbs then we would be better for it in this current little window that we are in. We lose a lot of talent in that, but look at the team then, there would be no room for all of Gallucci, Cameron, Atkins and Milera anyway. Our 22 would look something like:

Jarrod Berry is NOT slow, not as quick as Gallucci agreed but plenty quick with top end agility and elite endurance, don't take my word for it, check his combine results as well as all the testing results he had whilst at the AFL Academy. Berry is not only an inside mid, he was AA as under ager playing the running back role coming off half back for Vic Country and in his draft year played only played 8 or 10 games due to recovering from shoulder surgery over the off season and then a bit of knee tendinitis. It was only in his last 3 or 4 games once he'd built his tank that he played midfield/forward and absolutely shone out again. It's testament to Berry's hardness and preparation that Chris Fagan slotted him straight into Brisbane's midfield right from game one....Berry is no one trick pony believe me.

I was really doing a direct comparison when I was talking about Gallucci and that speed is probably a weapon that we would need more than the bigger body. Also, Berry seems a bit more composed and a user of the footy, whereas Gallucci seems to be more run and dash.

Anyway, looking at how well Berry is doing, why wouldn't you be thinking Gallucci might be close to that if not better given the opportunity. I think you look through last years draft and it was a pretty good draft. You got guys like Witherden, Hayward, Parfitt, SPP all coming after Gallucci and all are playing as well as you would want from a draft pick in the range 10-20. We've seen top 10 draft picks that dont look as good as these kids. It was a good draft and next years is supposedly not. Why wouldnt a club give up a late first for Gallucci given he has shown he looks to be very good and also the fact that he has come through with a very good bunch of players.

I reckon the Cats would have some interest personally. I could see them pursuing him as they're not flush in the Defence department with the retirement of Enright, the impending retirement of Lonergan and Mackie nearing the end. Doedee would slot in nicely in Mackie's role IMO. Won't surprise me at all if they make a play for Doedee with him out of contract at season's end. A young developing backman like Doedee would be on their shopping list for sure.

I really think Kelly to Adelaide is pie in the sky stuff personally, Gibbs and Rockliff look to be some chance........maybe, and that's a big maybe.

I'm not sure it would cost a hell of a lot less, but would be more believable. Too many cashed up Victorian suites for us to entice him away.

Unfortunately I think the Collingwood game showed us that our midfield is still very shallow in A-Grade talent. One injury to Sloane or Crouch x2 and we're in strife, especially since Sloane is vulnerable to a tag. One or both of Gibbs/Rockliff would help significantly, especially given the midfields of GWS, Melbourne, Collingwood and Bulldogs.
