Brissy squeezing out Rocky.
Playing him in different roles, he wants to play pure midfield but seems Brissy don't want to and don't rate him that high.
He wants big money and they want to keep youngsters. Not sure where he goes but looks like he's gone. They get a good pick too.

Currently we can offer him best 22 and a chance at a flag, he would like that option if the cash is right.

Would be a massive get and the most likely IMO

With the space that West Coast have just found themselves, and the need for midfielders I reckon they'll make a big play.

I'm cure Carlton will be able to pay the same cash or more and make the same pitch that in 2-3 years he'll be with a young group pushing their way deep into the finals. I don't have a problem with us chasing him, I just hope we aren't putting all our eggs into the one basket again and then coming away empty handed like we have the last few years it seems.

Yea, they were/are mates, but I'd heard that Redden wanted to clean his act up and start anew, which is why he didn't want to come back to Adelaide either and went to Perth, there were no connections there to lead him astray again.

Im dirty on the Rockliff news that Port are the front runners. its so obvious now we have stuff all cash to splash around. we wont be chasing anyone.

Lol perhaps we dont shoot off to the media. And perhaps we dont want to pay our many young guns huge overs so we are in fact able to lure a big name recruit.

It's good in a way because it starts being disruptive to the players.
More pressure on gov and lever now.

Would they get Pick 2 though?

This article suggests that the salary comp needs to be in the top 5% of salaries of over 25's for the position. If Voldemort's 800k was marginal for the highest compo, I doubt we'd be offering enough under the new cap to get Pick 2 for Brisbane.
