Depends on how densely packed they are. Unlike the living, the dead don't stop attacking when they lose 10-20% of their force. They keep on coming relentlessly. You're pretty much guaranteed to run out of fire arrows long before they run out of wights. At that point, you just become another wight yourself, and the Night King's army gets a ready-made replacement.
Yes, a conventional army can get to a point that it can win the battle, but would lose so many soldiers it would then lose the war.

Not a problem the dead will face.

I wasnt sure if ive read it somewhere before, i do check out awoiaf forums so i couldnt be sure. If it is a theory, its not a common one.

why Viserion though? Just because he was a campaigner? Or is there a more substantiated reason?
Because it can't be Drogon because he's the biggest, has been in the show more and has more of a connection with Dany and not Rhaegal because of the theory that Jon will ride him and because he was named after the brother that wasn't a complete campaigner

No one is a cert to ride any of the other dragons.

Does anyone else think the army of the dead is kind of weak?

The Wight are extremely vulnerable to fire which is easy to make, and the White Walkers are extremely vulnerable to dragon glass which they now have lots of.

Lysa is Bran's aunt and his sister Sansa was watching, plenty of "blood" there for Bran to be able to 'see'. I don't think Bran will mention it, just saying.
yep they have created a far too easy solution to kill the white walkers. the ending of this show could be very anti climatic.

Somehow i doubt it's gong to be that easy!

For me its been about finding out it is as simple as that

The knowledge has been lost/hidden away. The WW have been relatively quiet for a long time. People have gone onto internal squabbles. Memories have faded.
How do we fight dragons? Oh no we cant we are helpless. Well how about a big arrow?

How do we fight the Army of the Dead and White Walkers? We cant we are doomed. Hang on I read about DragonGlass and fire.

Here is somethibg that has been bothering me. I always thought dragonglass didnt work on wights..only white walkers. I swear i remember Sam or someone stabbing a wight with dragonglass and nothing happening.

Obviously Jon and the North thinks it does... maybe that is the twist.

Alternatively maybe its just GRRM saying.. look how easy it is to beat climate change we just need to band together and share technology... the question is will Dany pull out of the paris accord tho

if it is as simple as everyone fighting with swords of dragon glass its going to be massively disapointing.
Dragon glass is brittle. A dragon glass sword would shatter as soon as it hit a steel sword, or steel armour.

Swords of dragon glass are not the answer. It's much more useful as the tip of a spear or arrow, and the users have to aim for exposed parts of the wight.

It didn't work because Sam's dragon glass dagger shattered on the armour that the wight was wearing. We've seen dragon glass take out both wights and White Walkers, but dragon glass and steel don't mix.

When have we seen dragonglass take out a wight?

does that even matter anymore? cersei has seized power regardless of ancestory and Dany is back and she preceded Robert.

Yeah rightful heir means nothing at this point, it's pretty much whoever has the power to take it

'The Mad King burnt my grandfather alive.. he burnt my uncle alive'

Lol, no he didn't.

yes he did, his mum is lyanna stark that still makes her brother Jon's uncle

It's been established in show canon that Brandon Stark died from hanging/strangulation while trying to save Rickard from being burnt.

So no, he wasn't burnt alive.

It was just an inconsistency.
