I seem to remember one of the reasons Judd chose us was because he wanted to make sure the Eagles got a fair deal in return & he could see that we were the club most likely to be able to offer the fairest deal for the Eagles.

And players that are looking to go home (especially Melbourne), do take that into consideration, despite the conjuncture saying otherwise

Our Pick 1or2 will bag us Kelly for certain if Silvagni wants him and Josh nominates CFC as his preferred destination.
I reckon the Lions will beat the Suns and North at the Gabba, so we may well need up 18th , 17th for certain , strong cards will be in our hands to play.

Use #5, next years first, and maybe a second rounder if needed, to secure: Kelly, Hopper + Whitfield.

Kelly would be a massive in for us. But I cannot see the Giants trading 3 gun mids (even though they have plenty) unless they get significant overs.

#1 or #2 for Kelly = a fair deal for both sides. GWS decrease salary cap pressure to allow them to keep all their other stars. Plus get a cheap $$$ replacement who should replace Kelly's output after a couple of years of development. Perfect solution for them.

Great for us as Kelly would assist Cripps, Doc and the kids we got the last two years to grow as a team. And we have the salary cap space. But I am still hoping that SOS can somehow do even better as we need more than Kelly to really prosper.

the problem with these sorts of posts is that they dont look at it from GWS point of view. yes they have a deep midfield, but no they cant afford to have it decimated in the off season. Those 3 out of even their midfield would hurt.

Yep. And should already have a good relationship with SOS. Playing for us he'll have a hell of a lot going for him.

We may finish last but at the end of the day we have shown that when we're up and about we can beat anybody.

In two years, you may be right with Petracca, not so much now. Has had 3 preseasons and still only just starting to make some noise, might be a slow burn.
