Bullshit
Kneeing someone in the back of the head when marking is a complete mistake. This action is gutless and could have been avoided.
Completely gutless action that wasn't needed. Just because he was scared he put his foot up.
Crude and gutless act.

Home from Netball early tonight!!!

Reckon it falls under the banner of "non-football act". Seems materially different to players bringing their knees up in a normal jumping action. That was a kick out, away from his body, opposite the direction he was jumping.

Whether or not he's suspended, he's a malicious little shit.

Interesting one this.

Technically isnt against any particular rule depending on how a marking contest is termed.

Should and will be looked at but as i understand. Technically hasnt done anything against the rules
Yeah interesting one. I think he's OK.

It wasn't a marking contest. The ball was handballed to him

Key forwards are told to (and do) run at full pace and plant a leading knee square into the lungs or back of the head of defenders in front of them in a contest.

It could (and probably will one day) kill somebody in a Phil Hughes-type incident.

It's a dangerous, high contact sport. The AFL have some big decisions to make.

Trying to think of the players that tend to do the same type of thing (without the bloody face result)
Definitely seen it a few times this year without even a free kick.

But in marking contests

Waite maybe? Not sure

Unsportsmanlike and/or unnecessary maybe? - damage inflicted will mean he'll probably get a week

The secondary kick-out/extension of the leg didn't look good - but you see that all the time when a player is attempting to mark over the back of someone, this one was different because it was to the face and that is key; you can't touch the face anymore

I don't think he did it deliberately since he's been suspended a lot. Looked like a genuine mistake to me.

In the NRL you call it the Billy Slater, loves to kick guys in the head 'accidentally'

Any other player and this doesnt even get discussed. Its farked what the umpires have done to this kid.
No other player would do it. He's a ridiculously talented thug. What's farked is what this thug does on the field week in week out. I always respected Leon but clearly he's unable to control this piece of human garbage, and unwilling to drop him or pull him off the field.

Should get done against Law 19.2.2

19.2.2 Specific Offences
Any of the following types of conduct is a reportable offence:

(a) Intentionally or Carelessly;
(ii) kicking another person
(x) making unreasonable or unnecessary contact to the face of an opponent.

Only the third one possibly it comes under and only possibly. He certainly never kicked him, wasn't intentional or even careless. I think Dalihaus ran into his foot.
But I do think also the AFL will find a way to get him.
