Except it wasn't in a marking contest...

He literally marked the ball, that is a marking contest 100% of the time.

Nothing wrong with sticking out a leg/knee to protect yourself. It's been a part of football for 100+ years

Boot to face in that manner isn't legal. Nor was it a mark. Some very bizarre opinions being shared on this board.

Boot to the face it no different to a driving knee to the face. The driving knee to the face is extremely more dangerous.

Fine:

Not fine:

Should have gotten up, it was only a knee:

Yeah, a leading boot is far more dangerous than a knee to the head...

But it's not, and never has been.

High contact to the head, above insufficient force, is absolutely a free kick. Perhaps only when an opponent ducks is it allowed, even then, not really - see Duckwood. I'm not going to trawl through the rule book now though.

65 inside 50s - 7 goals (22 scores)
34 inside 50s - 16 goals (25 scores)

Says that practically all of Western Bulldogs kicks inside 50 were utter garbage.

Also says when GWS went forward they actually had forwards.
They did try to do a bit too much through the midfield though.

The fact that Greene did it means motivation is called into question.
A recidivous with a long record was busy being wrong again. He sure is a piece of work ... very good but he fails minimum standards
Got a history of doing his more infamous work later in the night when football club morphed into night club.

Should have been a free kick obviously, not the mark of the year.

Was it a mark or a collect from a handball?
