Really not suprised at the Yarran news at all.

I've said many times how prevalent drugs are in the AFL. Honestly the amount of players taking drugs is huge.

To think all Carlton players are squeaky clean is just pure ignorance and just not wanting to see it/ beleive it.

We can only hope we are building a good culture, but I absolutely guarantee a % of players at every club take recreational drugs.

If you watch the video, he clearly states a family member introduced him to ice.

Not that I don't agree with you to an extent, but this is not supporting evidence for your argument.

Media Related... Breaking News... Chris Yarran had a drug problem at Carlton.. On ICE and hid it from the Club. Has made a statement as to what he did at Carlton and how he hid it from the club. Was full on addict, and also apparently gambling. If club new about it, why did they try to pass him off to Richmond. Discussion on SEN with Robbo and Run Home, asking why? How? Did Carlton know? etc. Not good this coming out when we are trying to attract players like Kelly from GWS.
How did we pass him off to Richmond? Those arseholes were in his ear very early into his new contract with us. They chased him all year, we did not suddenly offer him up for trade.
So Yarran has said he hid it from Carlton yet somehow this is our fault and we knew about it?
Typical Carlton haters.

No one just jumps straight to ice. I'm sure he would have dabbled in other stuff before that.

With Yarran I don't know as absolute fact.

But I know of dozens of players from all sides who do. And not innuendo. Like people who have been present/ doing it with them.

Its rampant mate.

Ever done a recovery session?

Some peanut fitness guru decided it was a good idea to jump into a bath of ice and freeze your nuts off as a joke and said it aided recovery. Now that everyone does it, he is not game enough to own up it was only a joke so they all still do it. Crazy bastards.

Of course he does.

How else do you explain his blood turning blue...

This isn't earth shattering news....was reported on the board at the end of his time with us
It was well know well over a year ago regarding his ice addiction. He was spending a lot of time in WA, isolated himself from his teammates, and would walk around with his hoodie covering his head. There was more to it but I will not post that.

Funny thing, he also stated in the same video that he had stayed away from drugs his entire life...

Yeah I did see him say that. Watched the video too.

Look he may have jumped straight in, but from my experiance, everyone I know it has been a progression thing.

Anyway. Hope he is doing better and stays off it. That shit is the devil.

I'd argue that Charlie has more all-round talent (or at least the potential for).

Fev was a great mark on the lead (at full tilt) and just a terrific kick for goal from almost any position. Could break a game open within minutes if he was getting good supply, even if the delivery was poor.

But he didn't have many other strings to his bow, whereas Charlie seems to be able to have an impact in many other facets of the game; running hard both ways, strong pack marking, ability to play midfield (and even pinch hitting in the ruck). And as we know he's also strong up forward and a solid kick for goal.

Fev easy at the moment saw him win many games on his own. Charlie hasn't done that yet until he does he cant be compared.

I really think you're underselling Fev; the bloke could kick them from anywhere, in general play or from a set shot. He had an incredible ability to soccer goals, or kick the sort of thing smalls are meant to do. He was a magnificent forward, and but for the fact he was an idiot could have been anything.

But that's old news. Why are we talking about this again, and why are we comparing him to Charlie, who's playing his second year of footy and isn't fully fit yet, let alone about to get anywhere near his talent?

Had to have been while at Richmond, otherwise he'd be pinged during drug testing sessions.

Glad he's come good though.

There's plenty of people who have touched other stuff first but in remote communities meth has somehow become a drug a lot of people try despite never touching anything else. Probably because of how easy it is to get.

I think the education system is severely failing these people. Meth is nasty.

Just another reminder the Yarran issue of how common drugs are. Every club is filled with blokes on gear. Seen it myself and have been in the vicinity of a star using a recreational drug (not ice) at a club.

Gotta have some benchmark for comparison. It is either Fev or Kouta.

No pressure

Probably was at Richmond. But let's not fool ourselves that the drug tests would have picked it up. Ben Cousins was a full blown addict most of his career and never tested positive.

Plus if you do test positive the club doesn't find out, only the club doctor who has to keep it confidential.

If he wasn't an idiot he'd have gone down in history as one of the all time greats. Yes, I truly believe that he was that good.

Must say Charlie has been getting me a bit up and about lately... He really could be anything. Just hope he doesn't have the injury troubles that Kouta unfortunately started suffering.
