I know Rowe was good the last 18 months prior to doing his knee, but what's the point of extending him?

We are stacked for key defenders he's on the wrong side of 30 and won't even be right to go for next season.

We currently have one KPD in working order. Fortunately it's Super Liam.

ASOS has played the role but is slightly undersized. He also spends a lot of time injured.

Rowe and or ASOS running around in the magoos occasionally, or even for extended periods, isn't the worst outcome.

Like I said we disagree. If SOS believes a trade is better than a pick or visa versa then I'm okay with it.

Since when did SOS even hint at swapping pick #4 for a package of players?

Hopper isn't worth it, neither is Kennedy. Couple them together and it still isn't worth it.

Hopper and Kennedy types are not as difficult to come by as Kelly (or a potential pick #3) type of player.

Not to mention how stupid it would be to go after both. We don't need 2 of them because our midfield will be so slow they'd look like they're running through mollases.

Pick #3 to be traded only if Kelly is involved mark my words that is how SOS operates with high end 1st round picks. All you need to do is look back to last year where he refused to trade #5 for Marchbank, Pickett and Stewart.

Lol wow...they are guns and would be in any team...to say otherwise is just blaming them for things outside their control.

They have been our best 2 mids this year and if they had a better support cast over the years, would be seen as absolute stars.
Agree strongly. Put Murphy or Gibbs in hawks premiership teams and think about that for a moment.

ASOS under sized yet still owned Franklin...

His closing speed is elite. When the ball hits the deck and these opposition kpfs take possession, they don't have any idea what hit them.

The only major problem with ASOS is he's injury prone.

Which 2 Hawks mids are you taking out for them? If its prime Lewis and Mitchell replaced with prime Murphy and Gibbs I'm not so sure the Hawks would have 4 flags.

Even lewis admits he was heavily improved by the hawks development team. Who knows where Murphy and Gibbs would have ended up performance wise under the same development team.

Jordan Lewis has capped off his career-best season by winning the club's best and fairest award, the Peter Crimmins Medal, for the first time.

In his acceptance speech, he paid particular tribute to Hawks midfield coach Cameron Bruce for turning him into a consistently elite performer.

Exactly. You don't ever trade for "depth", it's a by-product of recruiting better top end talent. You bring in top end talent to push fringe players back out of the 22.

e.g. Bring in Plowman to push out White.

White stays on the list purely as a depth player. All things being equal we shouldn't see much of him next year.

Boekhorst, Pickett and SPS will benefit greatly from what Cam Bruce can offer.

As good a signing as any player we might grab in the off season in my view.

It's great to improve an individual and even better when the you improve the collective. (in this case the way the midfield functions)

I like what Bolton is doing by way of sticking to the game-plan until the group are ready to take on the next lesson.
Could make for quite an exciting pre-season, as the 15 odd under 20's we have, have been together for at least the one full year.

We wouldn't have seen much of him this year except that Bolton had this bizarre obsession early in the year of playing 6 defenders over 190cm (inc Weitering forward). Compare the relative heights of the round 22 team with the round 1 one.

I'm hearing that Hopper will leave GWS. He apparently likes it there however his parents are in his ear about coming to Victoria. As weird as this may sound, his parents aren't impressed with some of the pranks his housemates are playing.

Source: I work with someone who is close mates with one of the GWS scouts/list managers.

Pretty glowing from Jordan Lewis.
Hoping Cam Bruce can have a similar affect on our youngsters.
