I'm hearing that Hopper will leave GWS. He apparently likes it there however his parents are in his ear about coming to Victoria. As weird as this may sound, his parents aren't impressed with some of the pranks his housemates are playing.

Source: I work with someone who is close mates with one of the GWS scouts/list managers.

For starters, if Jacob's going home to his parents then he'll be playing with the Leeton Whitton Crows in the Riverina League (that's in NSW, not Victoria). Guess the Crows will have to run a record number of chook raffles to outbid Geelong and Carlton.

Second, Leeton boys do not run home to their mummies if they've been on the wrong end of a prank. You might, but Leeton boys don't.

Third, who's the BSer? You or your source?

Not even convinced it was a prank. Heard Leeton boys drink their own piss just to put hairs on their chest. Then they rip the hairs clean off for being too clingy.

Yeah, a bitta piss never hurt anyone Crippsy. Few blokes on here getting the squeams up just on the mere mention of it. Probably Victorians...

But it is interesting why young Jacob wants out of GWS after two years. Hasn't set the world on fire as of yet...

If it's good enough for Bear Grylls it's good enough for me...says every stupid non Victorian ever

Must be part of the criteria in the worlds most liveable city competition!!

Next drought I'm drinking my own piss to save water, who's in?

I can confirm that "% of pranks resulting in the consumption of urine" forms part of the criteria for the worlds most livable city.

If Simmo was likely to retire the club would not wait until the day before the game to announce it. Timing would be pretty weird or poor depending on where you stand on it.

Simmo should play on for next year.

Wants a big pay day before anyone realises he is more potential than output

If faced with the prospect of losing those three players, GWS might favour a trade of Kelly to Carlton rather than any trade of Hopper/Smith to Geelong. Why would you want to help a current top 4 team.

Our window is a few years away, whereas Geelong's is now while Dangerfield and Selwood are around. Anyway it's this crazy logic that keeps me hopeful that GWS will trade two of Kelly, Hopper and Smith to the Blues. :)

It is irrelevant what GWS favours, they will all get to where they want to go.

With all this trade talk surrounding gws do we honestly think they will lose all the players talked about.Hopper,Kelly,Smith,Whitfield,Kennedy,Wilson.Surely not.

If they win the flag there will be an exodus. Whitfield is contracted so if they lose a few others they can hold firm on him. If Kelly leaves then the offers for the others will rise considerably.

I see them losing only two of the names mentioned, GF win or not. Two out of Kelly, Hopper and Smith will leave. The rest they will hold on to

Not quite.

Say, GWS approach Smith and Hopper's player managers, and say this; if Kelly leaves, that frees up a space in our midfield, and a lot of cash which can be spent on you two. Fancy waiting for two/three years, of which you might develop further and make a name for yourself, whilst getting paid more than you would get elsewhere?

If Kelly elects to stay, their contracts are surplus; if not, it's pretty easy to see how negotiations with the two remaining players can unfold to let them see reason.

If you're worth an average player wage based on current output, yet your club's offering significantly over that, why leave? Opportunity alone doesn't pay the bills.

All true. I meant if they decide to leave then thats that, the club has no say. If Josh goes then they will improve the offers to the others. The downside is, by not offering a good deal now it has allowed other clubs to turn their heads.
