Is there an example of a young player who cracked the sh*ts and wanted to go home cause he was homesick AND then kicked on to have a successful career? Shak sounds like a dud, no grit.

I keep reading about BSOS. Who says he is any good? Kids involved at APS level think not...

He is terrible and will get worse over the next 12 months. Will probably get injured and won't be invited to draft camp. Will be picked up with a late draft pick for nostalgia's sake.

Hey soapyv how can we get/fit both Shiel + Kelly in the salary cap in 2 years . Get Kelly now frontend Kelly contract then Shiel wont work otherwise .
Am i dreaming?? ;)

Easily. Front load a lot of the talented kids. No Gibbs makes room. Murphy won't be on as much. We will have huge money to chase 2-3 "big fish" in a year or two

Plenty of young players have headed home and been successful. Why do supporters get so wound up by players returning home to play. It's as if it's a serious character flaw.

Schache? I rate him but I just don't think he is what we need especially at the cost. Prefer to go mids and the draft
I agree in isolation but if the whole picture comes together in this scenario Schache hasn't really cost us much. Sometimes these deals hugely benefit some more than others. Not sure I'd like to be a salary dump player though.

A lot of detail in this one. It's not a negative rumour and has plenty of plausible thinking in it. It is also not delivered in a take it to the bank or superior fashion.

This thread exists for the 'what if it's true' discussion.
The scenario is carefully constructed to create exactly the discussion that proceeded it, but it's not correct about the compensation formula.

They want the attention, just like they did a few months back. The only query is whether they seek validation or to troll.

Oh without a doubt I 100% concur, however .... if a gift horse should appear but the timing is not "quite" right ......... you would still do the trade.

Cannot have too many talents on the field.
I think you'll find 19 is too many. :p

People can believe what they want to believe but I can assure you this is not something I have dreamt up for fun. Nor am I a previous poster. As I said, each of the various elements are being discussed with clubs right now. Because each trade is basically a win/win for all involved (i.e. we aren't trying to screw anyone) it doesn't need to be a big secret.

This is how SOS operates - he does what he calls a SWOT analysis of each team and looks at where he can match pieces to maximise benefit for us (same as what he did with the Hawks or why he moved Tuohy on to get the GWS guys).

Schache I have never seen play a game so I have zero idea as to his value. But I recall Josh Kennedy looked pretty ordinary after two years and look how he turned out...

If this all eventuates (and as I said it is not guaranteed - 70/30 chance) - will those posters that have hurled abuse apologise and take a break from the forum? Or will they just carry on to abuse the next person? Haven't been here long enough to know if this is the standard culture or if I am just lucky!
Thanks for the secondary school-level business class, it's inspired me to ask a second question:

When you play PS4 with your GCS mates, how many hours of gameplay do you yourself clock up?

I can see you're a very important person with many leather-bound books at home and are in no way addicted to stimulants, so I appreciate you taking time out of your schedule for us semi-literate plebs.

BB, it's clear most of the people who read the forum haven't had a crack, so to speak, and a lot have written positively about your post.

So, it genuinely appears most really appreciate what you say. Wouldn't get too hung up on the negatives.

For me, although i love trade week, i don't take trade talk very seriously. It isn't live or death or something to get hung up on, regardless of whether it's made up or not. I enjoy reading rumour then getting on with other things to enjoy the day.

Fact is all trades aren't done until it's signed on the dotted line, so any talk about potential trades can change daily. So no point to get hung up on it.

You are a strange individual. Do you argue with posters for attention like this all the time? Or am I just lucky?

As I said originally, feel free to treat with a grain of salt. Feel free to completely dismiss it.

My only question though is if it eventuates will you actually apologise? Or given your outlandish remarks - will you do the right thing and give up your account never to return again? If you are so confident I am a troll then presumably you will agree to never post again if the rumour occurs. You post with such an air of authority this must be a no brainer.

Are you lumping all rumour mongers together as the same person?

I think you need to leave the protection of the board up to the moderators Jim. You'll give yourself an aneurysm trying to save the world.

Obvious bogus shit trolling like the Green trade will be dealt with. Anything plausible is free to be discussed. I don't see any names there that don't fit with what we have indicated this year. The only haggle is price.

Thanks - love your nickname. I have had a few PMs saying similar things.

I have no issue with people saying you are a newb with zero credibility so I don't believe this. I expected that. But to be called a troll, labelled as a former poster or posters, sworn at etc is a touch over the top. I can assure you next time I receive any mail it won't be posted on this board!

*Cough*Doc*Cough*

To be fair i'd say Doc is just like a lot of other players who simply requested a trade home but were professional about it.

From reports in the media Schache has taken it next level and is sooking a bit by not even playing in Brisbane's NEAFL side and was already at home rather than supporting the team during their Grand Final...which is more akin to 'cracking the shits' like McCarthy & Balic.

What was the Green trade? Someone alluded to this last night and I couldn't find it in the rumour thread.

Given the "up up Cronulla" - AFL umpires or NRL refs - which is worse? Tough weekend...

Settle down

as opposed to 2 x Top 10 picks (LDU & Stephenson), an extra pick plus Kennedy Rockliff maybe Smith then add Balic & Lang cheap and a heap of Salary Cap room. Not clear cut but I'd prefer this option. Kelly in 2 years

Pretty keen for a ff with 2 years under his belt who easily could have went pick 1. Think that's the big steal

Why do young key forwards get judged prematurely all the time?

All of a sudden Schache's a dud or was over valued in his draft year. What a load of garbage, was excellent in draft year and was always top 5 draft pick.

Key forwards take a long time to develop. You can usually write off there first few years. Won't be worth a pinch of sh*t early on. This happens over and over again yet posters want to judge them early and write them off.

Hawkins - at least 4 years to step up.
Patton - at least 4 years to establish himself.
Boyd - after nearly 3 years looked the goods in the finals. Now suffering depression.

You have to give key forwards 4 or 5 years. The reason we traded Kennedy was because Carlton was too short sighted to see this. How many posters wrote Patton off, plenty. Mckay will be just like the rest of the them, and so will schache.

Bullying doesn't suit you Jim.

Yes, I meant players who drop their lip and sulk about until they are traded.

Schache has the potential to be in the top 5 KPF in the AFL.
The lad needs to be content and motivated in an environment he wants to be in.
He has every right to demand that for himself , whether it be at CFC or else .
The AFL will realise eventually that obvious talent cannot be manipulated and manged it wants .
