You are assume I am someone I am not.

Given the number of posters telling you to pull your head in - perhaps reflect on that.

Not continuing this. Have a great day! If I was religious I would pray for you!!
Good to see that you're learning at least.

I look forward to hearing more about this 3 way mega trade as October unfolds. Stick around!

What are people's thoughts on the potential outcome of the Gibbs trade?

The way I see it:

1. Adelaide will not give up pick 6 (Pies) and will most likely not give up pick 10 (Melb)

2. Adelaide won't give up their first and second this year

3. We won't accept only their first rounder

I think we're going to run into the same issue as last year: he's worth much more to us than pick 18, but Crows would feel they're overpaying due to his age.

80% this deal doesn't get done imo.

I can see it being a stale mate again too

You know him personally, could you breakdown his psychological state of mind for me.

Ask yourself, how much do actually know about him?

If like the rest of us, stuff all.

He's unsure if he wants to be in Brisbane, big deal.

Just remember, and this has been pointed out many times, our possible future captain left Brisbane after 2 years.

Well making himself unavailable for a grand final albeit a neafl granny doesnt speak volumes of the boy ?

My take:

Saints need elite mids not forwards.

We are front runners for Balic

Trengrove going to WB's

Really? 4 clubs

Essendon are delusional

Possible. Essendon or Cats
I was a bit bemused about Schache. Not sure why we need more tall forwards.

I'm the same. Just think we need elite mids and depth

Lose Gibbs and add Pick 3, 10, 38, 40 (and another 3-4 picks) plus Rockliff Kennedy Smith Balic & Lang and we are in a really good spot

Would supporters be happy with

LDU
Coffield
Nathan Murphy
Lachlan Fogarty
Rockliff
Kennedy
Smith
Balic
Lang
and another 4-5 SOS special picks (like Polson/Williamson)
then a mature back up ruck and a mature mdifielder (Greenwood type) as rookies?

Thanks - love your nickname. I have had a few PMs saying similar things.

I have no issue with people saying you are a newb with zero credibility so I don't believe this. I expected that. But to be called a troll, labelled as a former poster or posters, sworn at etc is a touch over the top. I can assure you next time I receive any mail it won't be posted on this board!

hahaha...classic. The ol follow sympathy and "you'll all miss out on more" post.

101

Lovin' your work

1. I don't know what Adelaide will or wont do - I do know they didn't need Gibbs to finish top of the ladder and destroy GWS without Sloane on the park.
2. I think you are right.
3. I dont know about that - it all depends on what SOS can do with any offer he gets and Gibbs' 'real' disposition is.

I agree Gibbs playing at his best week in week out is worth more to Carlton than a 'bottom half first round pick' from anyone...

As to the rumour thathas everyone excited - it was interesting reading for me especially in the following:

1. SOS doens't rate Raynor in top5; and rates Fogarty as #1 from Carlton's perspective...
2. Murphy asked to not be Captain in his debrief session - the Docherty/Cripps combo is something everyone has been suggesting for a while now...even McClure came out with it on 360 a month ago.

What is clear to anyone is:

(a) IF Gibbs goes Carlton needs a developed replacement - who would that be?
(b) Also (my opinion) Carlton is better off bringing in 2-3 developed mids than trying to get same from the draft - especially if Gibbs goes - kids arent up to 4 quarters of AFL and personally watching blokes like Kerridge and Graham run around like headless chooks incapable of executing on basics let alone being true support to Cripps - isn't my idea of quality time. SPS/Fisher/Cuningham/Polson need larger bodies around them - not spuds, otherwise development gets stunted and Bolton cant bring in next phase of game development.

Yeh I forgot we are playing this weekend.
The season hasn't finished yet. Didn't refer to our playing season.

I'm not surprised he hasn't announced playing on, given earlier in the year he indicated he would. If not with us, with another contender (in an interview he said that's the only way he'd consider moving on, and only really if Carlton gave him the indication he wouldn't be back here). So the question has kind of already been answered, would be odd to do it again during the finals series.

Too good to be true Soapy.

Nevertheless, that would be 10/10 for SoS.

I am sure he is playing on with us. Our season is over there is no point not announcing it already.

Develop. Sell high.

Maybe the days of the huge chase for KPP's is easing off. With the competition embracing the team defence structure, these talls are less effective that they used to be. As a comparison the change in midfield depth these days is remarkable, where we now have 10-12 midfielders rotating . Given the competition in the midfield , it speaks volumes for the players that shine in there. For me, they are the real stars of the competition as they are competing with 60 % of the team at stoppages etc- yet they still can work their magic

Unfortunately the league doesn't revolve around us (those selfish pricks at the AFL) and no-one would care if Carlton announced Simpson signed a new contract aside from Carlton fans.

After the season has actually finished it would bring positive media to the club. Right now it would do nothing.

Do you think it's far away Zlatan?

I think it will need to be pick 10 and something for Gibbs. We may carry some of contract as Crows have a tight Salary Cap

Rockliff & Smith I doubt

The rest are very gettable. It's still 10-12 new young players which I believe 4-5 are ready made to step in

Agree totally, however SOS has shown in the past he is happy to stock up on KPP's as they tend to have the greater trade currency if the need arises.
