I'm not sure if they'll be getting rid of the old one altogether. I'll ask for you. I'm sticking with it to for now too.

Lol suave & sophisticated

Cool.

If they want some more specific feedback, the biggest thing that I'm finding a disadvantage is the way quotes are rendered. The older version made it clear at a quick glance what was a quoted with the background being distinct. Not that you can't tell with the newer style of course, but it's not so quickly picked up. This also makes the whole page in a thread look a bit undifferentiated and harder to quickly scan. Again, probably just a matter of 'getting used to it', but that's my first reaction.

Nah I stand by my comments. The AFL isn't fair/equitable and that landscape doesn't appear to be changing. So in my opinion you can either:

1 - Become AFL CEO and make the changes you want yourself
2 - Forget about it and move on

Otherwise you will be endlessly be frustrated with something that you don't agree with and can't change. No amount of positive reinforcement on BF is going to make you feel better.

If we are only going discuss things we have control over, BF will be a very quiet place.

Saying that I kinda over the GWS concession discussions as well.

It's not really about getting over it. It is more about wondering what the hell the AFL are doing attempting to manage the fairness of the code. For example, shouldn't more concessions go to a team that has actually struggled for quite a while. Aka Brisbane, Carlton.

GWS isnt about fairness, it's about ensuring the long term survival of the code. A bit god-like emperor of Dune.

I dunno if anyone has mentioned it but I heard on Sport FM this morning (IIRC it was an SEN program) that J-Lo is leaving the Eagles and taking up a position at Collingwood.

My personal take is that AFL gave GWS what they though was sufficient, then more to ensure that even if they make mistakes with trades they can still be competitive.

The problem is, GWS gamed the system and did not use the high picks to trade for mature players the way it was planned. They cashed in all the picks for youth and tanked for their first 2-3 years, getting even more high picks. Those first few years of "hardship" is totally self inflicted. Did themselves and the league a disservice fielding a totally uncompetitive team. How many people not closely following AFL still thinks they are the nut cases from years ago? Possible reason why turn out was so bad in their own home preliminary final? Done well on field but still doing poorly off field.

I think I'll be more pissed if we are now contending for a flag and they swoop in and took a few. As it is, I don't really care if they are dominant for the next few years. If not them, it'll probably be another Vic team anyway.

IMO there is a big difference between discussing fantasy trades/drafting, potential selections, forecasting team performance etc, and complaining about things you don't agree with and can't change.

For me at least, I enjoy the former and hate the latter.

In that case, there has been a lot of hate in the last 2 years :)

If you get a chance to watch games from back when Cameron Ling was tagging take a look at what they could get away with back then.

Facing away from the ball, arms both sides of the opponent practically tackling them before the ball has even arrived.

Completely right. Ling got away with plenty. Taggers were hated by the media, yet Lingy was praised.

So practically tackling is a free kick now?

Umpires look for the arm across the body to call a holding free now. Somewhere along the line the idea that a player could be held without the hands being involved, such as a stiff arm, came into effect.

Been saying Geelong are shit for a long time. Look at there 22, some serious spuds in that team.

Agreed. Not shit so much, but top heavy. 2 of their best defenders gone now too through retirement. It would be amazing to think they could be a force again next year. I think they'll slide exponentially.

I'm with you, I think the melts would be hilarious. Send all those fair weather Tiger supporters back into obscurity where they belong. Hope they get belted by the Crows!
Decent chance of that IMO. Adelaide can match Tigers for pressure and they are better at everything else except for Dusty.

If Adelaide play at or near 100% I don't see how Richmond can beat them.
