We went into trade period wanting to keep 5 to pick up a top end mid. Now we've lost 2 mids, so we'll go into trade period picking up 2 mids. We don't need another defender, as good as Naughton might become. 2 mids this year, and the best forward for our first selection next year, and then Carter.

Was reflecting just now and wondering whether a "swing for the best Vic mid at 2" and then "over reach for Naughton at 5" might not be a balanced strategy that could deliver the most return for the least risk.

And then you just think go for your lives with the best non WA mids x 2. We should focus on powerful inside types first and foremost.

B I think. A Victorian of the quality we would get at 2 or 5 will get us an elevated return even if they left. I would be careful which one I took though.

Get the surfers. Give them a 4wd and a new quiver and tell them where all the best spots in the south west are. They will never move back to Vic.
