Yet to see someone brush him off. He's not Fisher type. Higgins is very strong. Seen in his ability to consistently win contested marks despite his height.

Too harsh perhaps, I'll take another look , galdly give anyone player a go that can hold his ground and has a go, with good footy IQ and can kick well.

Agreed, he is different to Crippa. He is the best clearance player in the game when fully fit. Back end of 2016 he was averaging 30 possessions, 10 clearances & 8 tackles. Cripps always gets his hands free and dishes out a quality handball. Not many can do that consistently.

Higgins doesn't feel like a SOS/Brodie selection. The kid is quality though, I could see him heading to GWS at 11.

Agreed, and we don't have a player like him . He is much stronger over the ball than Fisher who will ultimately play more outside. I really see Higgins as a young Joel Selwood with his playing style and determination. He can use his smarts and strength to out mark much bigger opponents

Fogarty did not show his best during 2017 restricted by injuries, he's a good footballer can play the game no issue and I'd be thrilled if we swooped with pick 10. I know it's been said before but he has a Stringer/ Petracca hubrid style of playing with similar strong physic , no tank though but that wiil come, gritty , smart footballer a forward that will tack a man on and can read the game are priceless.
I'd be stoked , otherwise Boanar love his attitude and ability to burn huge up side, and if playing it safe Coffied would be good too.

I take it you are basing your thoughts on 2016 information. I watched him live and on TV and he was clueless as a midfielder. He attempted to use his strength to break a tackle and got smashed most times. He had very little concept as a forward and only looked good as a roaming defender in the 4th quarter of the WA game.
Now if the injuries were as bad as people want to believe then maybe you can project him being a star.

Good point. Was Mitchell, Barry or Sam quick, nope. Takes all kinds to make a team. If he’s the SOS preferred, then I’m all good to select him. Like Coffield myself - elite kick which we could use now Gibbs is gone.

I’d check LDU out if I was you. Rayner is Dusty-lite and will not develop physically much more. He’s a man-child and they don’t tend to come on any further. Very good prospect, but, anyone remember Anthony Banik.

I'd be very happy with Higgins. Kid will do anything to win and will give his absolute best week in week out. Full on footy head. Good person to have in your side

Higgins looks a little different to some of the shorter guys like Daniels, Gresham and Fisher that fit a similar description. Higgins seems much stronger over the ball, better contested player with good hands.

I think we'd all like Higgins to be taller (and more athletic). But he plays tall. Like Rod Ashman. Or Jamie Elliott. He's very strong overhead. So it makes him far more flexible than your usual midget.

Yeah, fair example, but we’re talking on-ballers here. Only reason Rayner would slide is because of the go home factor IMO, but if you’re expecting him to change into the hulk, you’re gunna be disappointed, he is now, what he’ll be in 10 years.
