Alby is just missing something though. it's too watery. As bad as $8.50 is for mid-strength, at least it’s a considerable step up from Carlton Mid. Alby goes down pretty well.
As much as I despised Barnett towards the end he wouldn't give a **** if the transport failed, ironic it's his **** off attitude that I hated. It's going to be very embarrassing and piss weak if they backflip again, especially when they should this time. It’s all political. Want the first and lasting impression to be that the previous govts decision on location was wrong. But this will backfire.
They are such lightweights (Mcgowan and Saffioti) and their behind the scenes people like Guy Houston...

How would they choose the 40k seats to have open? Woild they decide to have whole blocks closed? Or randomly keep 15k seats empty across the whole seating plan?
McGowan is like a wet lettuce leaf. Some people are leaders and some are not and in my opinion he fits into the latter - doesn't seem to know how to make the right decisions.COLIN Barnett — the man responsible for selecting Burswood as the site for Perth’s new stadium — has ridiculed plans to cap crowd numbers for its first major weeknight event as a “silly idea” that would embarrass the State.
“Big Bash (League) gets a huge following, it’s a great spectacle, and people will quite properly be angry if we’ve got 15,000 to 20,000 empty seats when they could clearly be used,” Mr Barnett said.
“(Rita Saffioti’s) job is to work out how to get people there, not to stop people going to the game.”
Mr Barnett said concerns about traffic delays could be handled by communicating with motorists, and using parking nearby, including Belmont Park Racecourse.
“If there is a little bit of congestion before the start of the game, so be it,” he said. “That is far better than having people who would want to go and see the Scorchers if they were in the finals miss out.
"How absurd would Perth look if the brand new stadium with 15,000 to 20,000 empty seats — it’s just ridiculous."
WACA chief executive Christina Matthews said if the Scorchers hosted a final, Optus Stadium gates would open at 11am for a Women’s BBL semifinal, and she encouraged people to go early, easing demand on the transport system.
Ms Matthews said Ms Saffioti’s revelation of a cap came as a surprise.
“We had been notified that there was a potential of a cap and we were going through the process last week of raising the fact we wanted to revisit that,” Ms Matthews said.
“We thought there would have been more talks around starting times, because the BBL semifinal day starts with the women’s semifinal, so the gates will be open at 11am.
“I don’t think the fact it’s an all-day event has been taken into account.”

It would have stairs for everyone except those who can't use them, and most peple who can't use stairs can't use escalators anyway (wheelchairs, prams, walking frames).Did i read correctly that the stadium doesnt have escalators, only lifts??! Disaster waiting to happen, certainly doesnt work in london
“Stadium Station doesn’t have escalators but it does have 11 lifts...so everyone should be catered for.”

I will have a look on Sunday and check it out. Escalators make much more sense, eg Perth Railway Station!Pretty sure stadium has escalators. Just the train station doesnt.
But maybe someone else can confirm
I was waiting for a Labor supporter to respond to my post and you didn't let me downWembley Downs, eh? Hardly a swinging voter. Explains the stupid comment.
McGowan has had a good first year. He hasn’t fixed the Liberal’s mismanagement yet, but he’s on the way. Now there’s a political party that should never be allowed near public money: at state level failed small businessman who can’t do anything right without causing bigger problems down the road.
I’m fine if McGowan backs down if the right decision is eventually made. Two out of three of their backdowns so far have been correct, imo.
And it may be that the discussion about the stadium encourages people to get to the final early, in which case good.
I was waiting for a Labor supporter to respond to my post and you didn't let me downBeing serious for a minute though it would be better if McGowan could make the correct decision to start off with though as backing down like he does just makes him appear weak as a leader. My opinion only of course!
The problem is that they've actively been preventing people from using rideshare to the venue and pushing more people onto the trains. But the trains don't have the capacity. So why the **** were they doing it, instead of promoting many different ways to get to the venue?
Short term solutions:
Open Belmont Park carpark.
Work with Crown to get people parking there. A 4-7pm game on a weeknight isn't a peak hour for them.
Open Burswood Park as a carpark.
Even open McCallum Park for cars as a last resort. Probably a bit too far to be realistic though.
