I’m a bit confused about the fixture - so is next week also an “away” game for the Eagles? With all the hoo-hah about our buying GCs home game off them, why do the Weags also have consecutive Optus Stadium games?

Surprisingly large crowd numbers for the Comm games IMO. Thought everyone considered it as much of a poor man’s Olympics as I do.

I just hope it's a hard running game, they play Gold Coast off a six day break and the Suns play a wide spreading game.
The suns are ripe for a drubbing, they are staying a week here away from the comfort of their own bed and families, we'll beat them by more than we beat the dogs last week imo.

If we consider all games at optus as home games then:

Eagles - H, A, H, H, A, H, H, A
Freo - A, H, H, A, H, H, A, H

Eagles home games are against Sydney, Geelong, Gold Coast, Port, Freo - all except Gold Coast in the top eight this year
Freo home games are against Essendon, Gold Coast, Bulldogs, Eagles, St Kilda - only Essendon are in the top eight this year

I agree, I would prefer it were competitive though.

Key players for them are actually at home with their families this week though.

I wonder if we deliberately asked for more potentially winnable games to be home games from the POV of maintaining attendance from fair-weather supporters, given the recent opening.

Those home games breakdowns describe both WA teams’ midfields
wc = hahahaha
Freo = ah ha ah ha
:D

The first 10 minutes of the dogsVdons game is proof that you need to convert most of your chances or you get burnt quickly and lose confidence.

Out of the 13 games we play at optus we should win 8-9 i reckon.

The teams left we play at optus that are very winnable

Dogs
North
St kilda
Carlton
Brisbane
Collingwood
West coast we should jag 1 out the 2 derbies we are due.

In before it gets out of hand, if it hasn’t already. ‘Dangerwoodlet’ is the stupidest f&$ken thing I ever heard in my life.

This year Richmond actually look like contenders. Belting the Hawks despite Martin playing a subdued game

Their 2017 season was very underrated by many on here just because we beat them on their home track mid season. The big turning point for them was when they lost to GWS in another close finish the week after losing to us from memory. Then they took it to another level again just in time for finals when beating us by over 100 pts on our home track. From there, they were unstoppable.

Bullies are looking very sharp, shades of the 2016 vintage.

Yeah you're right, their last 2 months or so was excellent and I'm judging them too much on 1) the first half of the season and 2) it's bloody Richmond, it's still taking me time to process the fact that they're not only an elite team but reigning champs.

Dangerwoodlett is how Shakespeare would describe a young man with an unimpressive, infected pecker.
That Shakespeare definition is a pretty accurate description of Dangerfield, Selwood and Ablett as a collective, too.

Hard to get a handle on form at the moment. If Essendon can't handle the Bullies I saw last week, heaven help them and doesn't say too much about us beating them last week.

Bullies are a different team this week but ultimately I'd say we're better than both teams right now.
