Why is that? Genuine question.

Adelaide and Collingwood.
Just his age I’m guessing, 29 at the start of next year so probably only got 3 good years left. Why is that? Genuine question.
Not sure. But they’ve got the coin, Buckley LOVES him and he has good mates at Collingwood.Surely Collingwood have enough good mids. Isn't that their strength?

My master plan for end of 2018:
1. Bring Lenny back down as an assistant, he demands respect and so many current players know first hand his character when he played for us. Not just those who played with him but others we trade in from other clubs.
2. Dump truck full of money to Sloane, bring him in and all of a sudden our midfield has a leader AND an elite player.
3. PLAY OUR PLAYERS IN THEIR BEST POSITION. This means Sinclair on a wing, Billings primarily as a half forward, Acres primarily on ball, Steven in the midfield not being thrown forward when things are struggling.
And go from there.

Doubt Lenny is back for a while. 2 years to go on his contract and home. Would have to be senior coach to come back I think and I don’t think he is ready. How many years on richos contract. 2 after this. Perfect and his wife will be ready to come home

2016?When was the last time an ex player was successful as a coach at his own club?

^^ Gee I'm not sure I've ever agreed with Sam McClure but he's right. Luring these two (or Shiel) is perhaps a pipe dream at the moment but I want to hear the club is going hard to get someone through the door and not caring less what anyone thinks about it.
We are in despirate need of leaders and stars and at the moment it doesn't look like someone from within can fill the gap.
Hard to hope for too much from the draft when we don't have a 2nd round pick and very little trade bait.
What type do you meant Plugger?Recruiting the same type with the same head recruiter. Madness

Don’t agree with that, bring in one or two really good players with some leadership qualities and we could be right up there.
Have a bit of an axe to grind in regard to our trading last year...
We picked up Logan Austin from Port Adelaide and swapped third round and 4th round picks from the 2018 draft. We also swapped them our future second round pick for pick 34 and a future 4th rounder or something.
Fast forward to now, and Austin appears to be behind Nathan Brown, Hugh Goddard and Darragh Joyce for the full-back position. We also used that pick 34 from Port to draft Clavarino, who is a defender. Surely if Austin was a good pick-up he'd be putting pressure on Brown at this stage, but he's already behind a guy that hasn't played in years due to injury and an Irishman who hasn't played AFL football yet.
On top of that, our future 2nd rounder that we gave to Port will now most likely end up being a pick in the mid-20s.
It was a really poor couple of trades by us, and at the end of it we've ended up with a plethora of defenders (which is one area where we are stacked) and a massive gap in our drafting potential at this years draft.
Senseless trading in my opinion.
I'm sure he is our #1 priority. Not sure we are his priority though.Cant see it happening
MoreAre there any reasonable estimates on how much cap space we have?
Like do we have 2 mil a year to work with or more than that?
