To be fair (and I'm playing the Devil's advocate a bit):

If he touched someone on the bum then yeah that's pretty creepy.

Lack of evidence doesn't mean he didn't do it.

I don't believe the victim just made up a story.

The white hood burning cross frenzy whipped up by Elsplthhhh and friends doesn't discount these are fairly serious allegations which need to be addressed
As long as every drunk, horny 20 yo that touches a girl's bum on a Saturday night in Adelaide gets the same level of exposure and scrutiny, I am all for it.

I don't buy newspapers or watch commercial TV, so I'm flying blind here, but has there been any talk of Mr Kim's and their Liquor Licence as per Responsible Service of Alcohol?

Yes but all facts we actually know at the moment is that he was out past curfew and was very intoxicated.

To create headline news painting him as some sort of sexual predator trolling social media for “evidence”. Plus the selective editing of the only footage they could find to make it look worse, reeks of lowest gutter tabloid journalism.

I’ll reserve my judgment when Port and the AFL have finished their investigation.

By jumping to conclusions we are no better than ch7, Elspeth and co. IMO.

Yeah, I just love this state's track record of wringing its hands from a moral and ethical standpoint only when it suits.

Oh I don't disagree with either of you. As I was saying playing devil's advocate.

Allegations of sexual assualt are serious and should be treated as such by all parties. Including if not especially the media.

Allegations of sexual assault should be taken seriously particularly when made by the victim. These allegations seem to be made by the media. If the allegations are untrue, or there is no basis for them, and in particular, if no such allegation was made by the victim, then with power comes responsibility, and the person(s) responsible must be brought to account. Where such alergations are actually investigated by the police, the perpetrator is not allowed to be vilified in the media as appears to have happened to SPP. Defending the media in this with an argumeant that such allegations must be taken seriously, for some reason, is equally abhorrent and not socially acceptable.

Kochie has come out and slammed those who used the term 'sexual assault' in the Powell Pepper incident.

Kochie has stopped short of directly criticising his employer but his comments are a pretty pointed none the less. Kochie is in a difficult situation and you have to feel that if he were not contracted to SEVEN he would be more direct in his criticism of SEVEN and certain individuals.

David Koch has also described Sam as a 'boofhead' which he might have left out. Particularly as that is the bit the Monopoly Mail has seized upon as it's headline. Not sure if you would put this in the nod's head or shake's head thread because while it is good that Kochie has a crack at the media's reporting of the incident it is rather scurrilous that the Murdoch Press choose to headline the article with, 'Powell-Pepper a boofhead says Koch'. I think I will opt for a shakes head.

SPP if not charged should push for defamation.

He wasn’t afforded the luxury of the common person or Crow staff!

I don't believe the victim just made up a story.

Well by definition if she is a victim she didn't make it up. The real question is was she actually a victim?

She could be a tingle supporter who got mad when SPP didn't reciprocate her advances. We just have no idea.

The fact that she's gone very quiet once the CCTV video has been confirmed to be released, and that there doesn't seem to be neutral witnesses verifying her definitely doesn't look good for her story though.

Also that's a very good interview by Kochie and I think the perfect approach - if he did do what the girl has said then Pep needs more than a week (I've already said I think he should have got 2 for breaking curfew regardless); but if he didn't then Elspeth and the rest of these channel 7 clowns need to be taken to account for this garbage reporting. This should be a line in the sand moment.

Probably should include the Advertiser reporting as well, they have printing the same assumptions without verification.

Well, let's hope young Pep learns from this.
It's one thing to leave a trail of destruction on the field.
It's entirely another to leave a trail of destruction off the field.

Strange thing is..the AFLW GWS player who was accused of similar against a Crows player on the field was smoothed over very quickly and everyone moved on.

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl...-by-opponent-during-game-20180308-p4z3ip.html
"The GWS player, who was alleged to have touched her opponent on the bottom and made an inappropriate sexual comment, is understood to have strongly denied the allegation when questioned.Adelaide player believed her GWS opponent had "crossed the line'' with a combination of lewd words and touching on the backside."
Was the GWS player even named?
This appears a witch hunt against a very drunk PAFC Indigenous lad.

Not necessarily, I was denied entry a few weeks back after having only a couple of beers and answered a question that I heard wrong because there was a group of drunk girls yelling at each other in conversation.

Koch also states in that article that he allegations of "sexual assault" are being thoroughly investigated by the AFL Integrity Unit. Surely it is inappropriate for the AFL and not SAPOL to be investigate allegations of such a serious criminal offence.

KT at the post game function said that the reason the AFL investigation is taking so long is that they want the AFL to be thorough and corroborate the story. Apparently they have been having trouble finding evidence of the lady’s claim and the AFL are combing through thousands of hours of video. He said that if Sam has done something wrong we want to know about it so that we can deal with it the right way, and if he hasn’t done anything wrong we want to be able to properly defend him.

Thousands of hours of video? I think not. There wouln't be many hours of video to review. Unless the AFL has access to spy satelites that can measure heat signatures in extremely fine detail from space, doubtful, then this will boil down to a 'he said, she said' and the AFL is stalling to give the appearance they're being thorough.

Maybe not thousands, but if the girl is a bit vague about exactly what time and where in the club it took place or if there is even some suggestion something happened outside of the club, then they may have to look at footage from several CCTV cameras. Anyway it's better that the club definitely want to know if Sam was out of line and take stronger action, than being happy to take the easy option.

Of course not, but that’s what was said verbatim.
Making the point that despite all this video from the night club nothing implicates SPP and it isn’t from want of trying.

Great response from Kochie.
I'm with him 100% here.
Need some strong leadership right now from the Club, so stick it up the ****ers Kochie.
