Doubt its true. Brendan was on SEN and stated our cap could easily absorb a gun player and we are in the market for one.

My impression was more that whilst it could fit, we're not interested because it'd mean losing our younger players as they get new contracts and want more money.

Not super convinced with what I was told though, just thought I'd share.

Even if it was the case, if it means losing a role player or maybe two, it would still be worth going for Lynch. We have so many small forwards we can allow one to slip through.

If we lost 2 of our mid range players this year it wouldn't be the worst thing, hopefully they would nett good picks in a great draft, relieve a bit of cap pressure and we have young guys busting to get in the side anyway who may even end up better players.

Say we lost B Ellis and Bolton. we should get 2 picks under 25, we land Lynch as a free agent, then go to the draft with 3 picks in first 25 and only losing 2 players who we have ample depth to cover.

Never nice to lose Premiership players but this year is the year for the club to be a bit brave IMO
