I would take Fyfe over Lunch any day, and twice on Sunday.

But Lynch fills a list need. Fyfe would just make our midfield unbelievable.

If Lynch is in our team it could mean Lambert, Castagna, Butler, Rioili, JR, Dusty up forward, Townsend, Caddy, Edwards, and others in our mobile smaller fleet are less effective.

This is why I think some like Balta's potential could be more effective because his speed, athletic prowess and defensive capability as well as versatility would in theory be more conducive to complementing our team mix and make them better. On the other hand is Tom Lynch's still against our grain and would he make us a weaker team taking us away from a premiership?

I still believe we overpaid for Prestia let alone Tom Lynch!

Lynch would take Jack's role. Jack plays as a KPF but floats all over the ground. Probably Towno gets the knife then. For oppositions it is terrible., They have to mark Lynch cause he is good. And they have to try and stop JR cause he could kill you if let free to do whatever he wants. We lose a little defensively perhaps, but gain offensively and around the ground.

Has been dropped multiple times for extended periods under a number of different coaches for the reasons previously mentioned. Even more damning at a club who didn't have the luxury of dropping their "better" players.

He is only 1 player so would directly only effect 1 player. The rest of the smalls will still be there.

Lynch is a free agent so I imagine we just have to make a bigger offer than Gold Coast and they will get compensation picks.

GC will offer the best deal by far, but the player doesn't have to accept the highest bidder.

We could not get near an offer from Gold Coast. If they were to match then he can nominate in the draft and we most likely would miss out. But Gold Coast would not want him to go to the draft and get no compo. If he steadfastly says I want to go to Richmond then we'll get him. Gold Coast would not try and redraft him. It would cost them too much.

You forgot the 3rd option which is the 2 clubs can then organise a trade. if this doesn't happen, then he can nominate for the draft.
