I thought the same thing seeing his under 18 footage. Will take overhead marks around the ground all dayGiven his tank, ability to lead up and aerial prowess I'd compare Brander to a young Nick Riewoldt.

You'd have to drop one of Kennedy, Darling or Waterman, otherwise they would have thrown him in already from the sounds. Am super stoked he signed for another couple of years, so there's no pressure to get him in before he starts looking elsewhere. Simmo has been saying he'll get a game at some stage, maybe if waterman or Kennedy has a restYou don't leave a young Nick Riewoldt in the WAFL. You push him up the curve, even if he is not obviously best 22.
In fairness, I've always thought he is a rubbish ruckman.Yeah don't worry about the 'first game back from injury' thing. He is shit.
He didn't play that much in the ruck. Blee took a fair portion of it, which surprised me, along with McInnes. In fairness, I've always thought he is a rubbish ruckman.
Today he, a professional footballer, was absolutely flogged by a smaller bloke who hasn't played in 2 years.

So let's just say that Kennedy, Darling and Waterman are best 22 this year, 2019 and 2020. How many games is Brander going to play in his first three seasons? You'd have to drop one of Kennedy, Darling or Waterman, otherwise they would have thrown him in already from the sounds. He might get a game in round 23. The AFL expects us to travel to Brisbane in the final round. Can't see us sending a strong team for that game, unless we desperately have to win.So let's just say that Kennedy, Darling and Waterman are best 22 this year, 2019 and 2020. There has to be a different pathway to blood him at senior level.
What do you suggest? Imo going in with 4 tall forwards isn't going to work so we're going have to wait for injury/form drop off of one of those three to force them out. And then we better hope Oscar Allen turns into a midfielder and we'll probably have to resign ourselves to Matthew Allen leaving. So let's just say that Kennedy, Darling and Waterman are best 22 this year, 2019 and 2020. Is that your impression from the outside or have you spoken with some EP people who know him?Partington in, East Perth lose. The curse strikes again. As long as he gets his numbers he is happy.
1. He was on limited game timeIn fairness, I've always thought he is a rubbish ruckman.

Excuses, he performed far inferior to the other talls in the game. A lot of it isn't even related to touches, he also got outbodied by smaller opponents.1. He was on limited game time
2. Limited minutes in the ruck
3. Conditions didn’t really suit the big guys up forward.
Even Lycett would have struggled is he was in Vardy’s shoes yesterday.
Not sure they were excuses to be fair, maybe he isn't confident in his body right now.Excuses, he performed far inferior to the other talls in the game. A lot of it isn't even related to touches, he also got outbodied by smaller opponents.
I'm not anti-Vardy, I just don't think he's very good. He's competent at best IMO.Not sure they were excuses to be fair, maybe he isn't confident in his body right now.
Are you not a Vardy fan?
Thought he was good for us in 2017?
Partington didn't seem to play that selfish style you think he plays, yesterday. Kicked a nice goal, didn't think he was too prevalent though.Partington in, East Perth lose. The curse strikes again. As long as he gets his numbers he is happy.
I reckon we could see what happens with four talls. It's not like Darling and Waterman are lumbering or immobile. Our tall forwards have exceptional workrate and mobility. We could therefore carry someone like Brander for a few games in the interests of accelerating his development. Or give him a run as a third tall in defence. What do you suggest? I've seen what happens with four tall forwards, it's called the Mitch Brown effect. No thanks.I reckon we could see what happens with four talls. Mitch BrownSurely it depends who the four talls are. Darling and Waterman are not 6'5 lumberers.
