Golden State Warriors win game 7 and now its 4 in a row vs Cleveland.

Skip Bayless couldn't help himself. Within minutes having a dig a Lebron. But it would 3-5 not 3-6 Skip if you are right, unless he means finals series rather than "grand final" games.

Edit nah Skip is right. i forgot the Cavs made the grand final in 2007 and were spanked 4-0 by San Antonio Spurs.

He'd certainly get a start there every week ;)

BBC says no:

Gareth Bale: Real Madrid forward will not join former club Tottenham

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale will not return to Tottenham this summer.

Bale's future in Spain is in doubt after he said he needed to play more often following Saturday's Champions League final win over Liverpool.

Tottenham had a buy-back clause inserted into the Wales international's contract when he left to join Real for £85m in 2013.

It offered Spurs the opportunity to match any accepted bid from a Premier League club for Bale, 28.

However, the forward has a contract with the Spanish giants until 2022 and is thought to earn more than £400,000 a week after tax.

It means his likely transfer fee and wages would make a Tottenham bid unrealistic.

Absolutely insane money

****ing shattered. My teams are cursed. What I'd give to experience what GSW fans have had. Heck what Richmond fans felt. Thy kingdom for a championship!

Cavs v Warriors final, who didn't see that coming?
At least they were made to earn it this year. They have pretty much coasted the previous 3 seasons.

I hope Boston Celtics make the NBA Finals next year, with a healthy Kyrie Irving and Gordon Heyward, maybe even with Kawhi Leonard

Aviation in South Australia in particular, if anyone's interested... (I work in the industry)

Adelaide Airport has never had a major incident since it opened in 1955

There's only ever been one aviation disaster in South Australian history, Whyalla Airlines Flight 904 from Adelaide to Whyalla on May 2000, a Piper PA-31 Navajo crashed into Spencer Gulf, 8 people on board died

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whyalla_Airlines_Flight_904

That's pretty impressive considering in a century of flight, the hundreds of flights per day that take off and land in South Australia every day: commercial aircraft, charters, Flying Doctors, military, joy flights, freighters, search and rescue etc. etc.

this is actually insanely interesting dude

Read this morning that Tottenham have the right to match any rival EPL offers.

That said, apparently he is earning 400k GBP after tax a week!
Which will be around 100 million quid BEFORE the wages start!

Crazy money!

So wages of around $50 million dollars a year and a transfer fee of $200 million....FOR ONE PLAYER!!!!!!!!!!

I miss the Star Wars and shit music talk. We need Piston, whatever name he is currently posting under, to post some Fleetwood Mac vids to lift the quality of this thread.

I'm fascinated by other people love for sports teams other than Ports. How did you people become emotionally invested in foreign basketball and soccer teams?

A 29 y/o who has averaged around 20 league starts for the last three seasons

PS Star Wars still sucks and even Mustaine knows he'll never be as legendary as the first 4 Metallica records

The 76s paid for a trip to Thailand.
LeBron paid my tax bill.
Tottenham several good nights out.
Stephen Curry has covered my partners birthday present.

Once emotionally invested you relise how great these other sports are and who the champions are who play them you stay hooked.

The afl are lucky they got in first.

Grandad used to take our Uncle John up to White Hart Lane on the train before the war.

(even though their home town was to the north of London one always went "up to London")

I’ll bite...

Baseball: Boston Red Sox, used to post on the Bridge 9 board in 2004, everyone going nuts during the American League Championship Series, Yankees vs Red Sox, Boston came back from 0-3 down to win 4-3, then swept the Cardinals in the World Series, first one in 86 years after many years of heartache. I'd always liked baseball, used to always go to Adelaide Giants games at Norwood Oval when I was a kid, but I'd never really had an MLB team until then.
