I'm fascinated by other people love for sports teams other than Ports. How did you people become emotionally invested in foreign basketball and soccer teams?

Started watching Sunderland 12 years ago on Foxtel when they were in the 2nd tier and haven't stopped since. And that's when I was 10. Also support the Italian NT due to my background and was winding up everyone in school after the WC in 06. Also have an interest in the Nashville Predators due to NHL 99.

Out of those 3, I'd say 99.99% of my sporting fandom revolves around Port though. Nothing beats your local team.
