Murdoch gets in for speed. Is rubbish.
Parsons must be invisible on selection day. They simply forget to omit him.
Fogarty doesn't warrant a response. Not a reputable issue.

None of that has anything to do with the undeservedness of Buzza's selection. There's a ruck getting in the bests regularly of late, let's try someone who has earned it

Buzza's the CHF and Stanley support. Don't understand what you're imaging.
Dangerfield is a midfielder wasted as a small CHF or whatever??
Blitz stays where he should key defense, that's why Buzza should play, gives us balance and options also some crash and bash.

He was more influential than his stats indicated against North. And his selection allows:

- Stanley to continue to hopefully play reasonably in the ruck with a chop out here and there. Quite injury prone too Mr Stanley.

- Hawkins to get up the ground and be CHF (where he is best and where we need him) without worry of nothing to kick to or bring the ball down deep when he leads well up.

- Blicavs to be FB which is what he has been in the best defense in the league.

- Our now reasonable about of smalls (Kelly, Fog, Narkle, Parfitt, etc.) to have someone to crumb too and play around when Hawk gets up the ground (where as I said he's better anyway rather than painfully wrestling against two or three defenders all game deep).
Dont understand the constant calls for Buzza to be selected really, the guy has had 14 touches,6 hitouts and a goal from his last 2 senior games, hardly warranted continued selection as a forward or 2nd ruck.

I'm ok with that too. But let's be honest we don't have the guts to do that.

I'm well aware mate. It's why we we'll get to the finals again and falter.

I managed to watch a quarter and a half of the game tonight and you need 22 players who are prepared to put their body on the line, work hard for each other and run all game.

We have far too many passengers and it's why we don't play well in finals. Blokes like Guthrie and Parsons aren't cut out for pressure football. Nor is Murdoch, nor is Menegola. Nor is our zone defense.

We'd have beaten Richmond two weeks ago had Scott acknowledged this and decided to pay respect to their defenders who continually zoned off our lazy forwards and set up most of their play.

Leaving Parsons in the side this week beggars belief.

Guth and Menegola I think can offer something in a balanced side with worthwhile roles. Probably Guth coming off the bench and playing a wing and Menegola as a half forward mid like he is now. He has been ok and hits the scoreboard. Parsons and Murdoch you're dead right on. Sides just know they will be able to ignore them and swarm to everyone else. You can't win finals with that happening.

Am already resigned to a finals flop after a bright few weeks there unfortunately. You watch how slow and stagnant we look away from Geelong after we bring Hendo in for the sake of it with Taylor still in and Scott Selwood.

Buzza is in the team because:
  1. It allows Tom Hawkins to work up the ground and kick inside 50 balls
  2. It gives a target who can lock the ball into the F50.
Without Buzza/Sav, we either have to bring Hawkins up the ground to be the safety kick, have him turn around and have no tall to kick to, or have him in the goal square, but no one to mark the ball up the line as we leave our D50.

I agree except for Guthrie. He doesn't work hard enough, he's soft and coughs it up under any sort of pressure with his preference to handball backwards or to stationary targets ... and I watched the VFL game two weeks ago and he did nothing to warrant a recall.

With a clearly superior knowledge to an AFL coach and his entire team of assistants you should get yourself one of those high paying gigs. You admit that you watch very little football these days and can yet you can still outline a better gameplan than those paid to do it. You should definitely get a gig with an AFL team. You would be on 1 million a year easy!! Even if you think CS can't coach he has been competitive putting in like 70 hours a week. You have him covered watching one game. Imagine what that sort of genius is worth!! Get on that gravy train baby!! Or perhaps have some perspective about how much you know and how indisputable you criticisms of the coaching set up are. One or the other!

Don't care. He doesn't belong on form.
The obsession on here with a certain "structure" is tiresome.

Stanley is on Tom ******* Boyd for crying out loud.
Blicavs won't be needed down back as much, their tallest forward is KPD in Naughton followed by a Carlton reject in Gowers.

How about Buzza earns a place :thumbsu:
Premiership big man, near NS medallist?

Last game he kicked a goal and handed two more off to others and should have been payed a few marks and frees that the umps chose to ignore.

Gave ruck chopout and drew tall defenders from Hawkins and we won those games he played.
Hawkins had 24 possessions and 11 marks and 3 goals in the first of the Buzza games.
That's why he should be playing.
