The Lynch situation will be very interesting.

FA compo might be pick 3/4, but Suns sound adamant that they will match any offer made (and we know they can).

They won’t put as much value on that pick as they would an established player. That being said they failed in trading in any players with the Prestia, Jaegar and Ablett trades. But I have a feeling they will really dig their heels in and make a statement with Lynch.

Hope the Pies are ready for a long drawn out FA period!

Would beams try to get back to the pies or would he be happy with another Melbourne club?
I’d love to trade pick 1 and 2019 pick for 2 and 3 off GC. Then trade pick 3 for Shiel and 9. We could then go into 2019 with additions of:
Shiel
Walsh
Collier-Dawkins

Trade 29 for schrimshaw
McHenry
BSOS
Hickmott
Brazier

Jesse Palmer
Sam Fisher

Add Marchbank, Williamson, Docherty and a new captain things look a little better. We’d need to finish 6th-12th to make giving up the future first.

What happens if Carlton beat Brisbane, Brisbane beat GC and Carlton best GC. We could end up 3rd last and potentially be getting pick 4.

Lukosius
King
Walsh
Smith???
King???
Hately???
rankine??? - probably stays in Adelaide.
Taylor??? - we haven’t got a player like him on our list
Rozzee??? - ditto

If Gold Coast finish second last they will get picks 2, and 3 for Lynch leaving.

This gives us a plethora of options to make a deal for pick 1

Pick 1 for Brodie and 3 (take Smith or Walsh)
Pick 1 and 2019 first for pick 2 and 3 (take Smith and Walsh)

And so on

See your point but don't want Brodie since I hear he's a bit slow and once dimensional plus doesn't have an appetite to defend?

Would be too slow and lacking defensive spread with Cripps, Kennedy and Brodie.

Well Blue_sunday I stand corrected. Option 2 is a realistic possibility and if anything, one that I wish we could pull off. SOS get onto it, our pick #1 + our 2019 1st for #2 + #3 this year. Smith and Rankine combo becomes very possible.

Look.

I don't want to be that guy.

But tall utility whose best attribute is upfield work and field kicking.

Not a standout mark or very physical.

I remember a no.1 like that. Jack Watts

Jack Watts won the Larke Medal as the best player at the champs. JK won't.
Failing to see much improvement from last year from the game last week.

Look froward to getting another look at him on Wednesday. Not sure playing him all over the ground is showing him at his best.

I’d really like to see a rumour about Cripps signing a long term deal with us (I’ll settle for a 2 year extension). There is no doubt he would be the number 1 priority for SOS before the off-season commences.

Think we’re being drip fed...

I’ll check the fixture and pick a date when we’ll need a ‘lift’

Whatever we do trade wise, just have to make sure we don’t sell the farm like we did with Judd.

3, 20 and Kennedy for Judd and a 3rd rounder.

Equivalent would be 1, Dogs 2nd rounder and McKay in terms of potential not yet realised.

We'd be wanting 2 guns for that.

you're assuming no AFL interjection and a PP for GC before round 1.
