Last week and v Coll we were happy with how the club has performed. Then another bad loss. When we cop injuries we look extremely bad. We had 2 down v Coll all day and came out with a near miss. We battled all day with port. Near miss. We lose by a big margin to Bris. They play an unaccountable Brandon football and we tried to match them. We can’t.

How many players did freo Jane in front of the play, how many did Brisbane. They just back themselves. We tried to. It doesn’t work. YET.

156 games through injury lost. We can’t get too high when we win. We can’t get too low when we lose.

Bring on saints. Another downhill skiing team. We need to defend first.

Agree Simmo especially was a massive loss our backline was disarmed, his courage and run all over the ground just priceless. Our backline was in disarray.

If Mckay requests a trade then our club has some serious explaining to do. By not playing H, not only are we inviting other clubs to get in his ear, we are also diminishing his trade value by him being stuck in the twos.

The fact our VFL side is borderline uncompetitive makes it so much harder for him and Kerr to develop themselves.

If you were Mckay and you kept seeing players get rushed back from injury and go straight in to the side only to be dropped the next week or re injure themselves as they were not ready and keep seeing other players gifted games but you are still playing 2s even when Casbout gets dropped, then id be looking elsewhere too.

It really isn't diminishing his value. Saints and Hawks apparently sniffing if the rumours of him looking elsewhere are true. Hawks have pick 11 which I would happily take off their hands. Saints have pick 4 and nothing else to offer bar a 2019 first rounder. Either way, if Harry goes we will get rewarded handsomely for him. SOS wont let Harry leave for anything other than a first rounder. That id be certain of. Assuming the rumours have any basis in fact.

If we do decide to trade pick 1, hopefully live trading is in place for the draft this year. Other sports with live trading have shown that the best time to trade them is on draft day, especially when you are on the clock and whomever wants Lukosius is at their most desperate.

Would not be going with a PP for #2, it won’t happen. The only way we’d have 1 & 2 is if we find some magic beans (or another Weller) to trade with GCFC.

Boekhorst was dealing with a serious gambling problem (like many of his teammates - more shithouse standards with regard to player welfare from us).

One thing that has become obvious with SOS is that he makes his mind up on players very early, which worries me.

Mate all clubs are the same in regards to gambling and they all run the same education programs so lets for once not blame the club for the kid having a problem - lets call out the player for not taking responsibility for his life or question the role of his Manager in not helping him.

We don't actually know what's gone on behind the scenes, only that the club made a strong public statement. Everything else is pure speculation.

I was just watching OTC and they were talking the Dee's trading away pick 2 (Kelly) for two top 10 picks (Tyson and Salem) and Nathan Jones said it was the right decision!!! A win-win he said.

FMD Kelly is 10 times the player .

As a captain he's probably not in a position to say otherwise considering both those boys are still on the list, hence the "win-win" description. Saying GWS won with Kelly, but also supporting his players and not penciling them down as a failure.

You know what I 100% agree with this sentiment. With all this talk about poor culture we need to draft in kids with great character. Word is both Smith and Walsh are outstanding young men who will be future leaders of a football club. Add them to a future midfield of Dow, Cripps, Kennedy, LOB, Fisher, SPS and Cuningham and our midfield is set. . Plus a free agent or two. Why wait another year to develop players. If Smith and Walsh are exceptional then bank them now and move forward. Next year we can try to trade into the first round and pick up a free agent.
