Again, if most of our players did their bit defensively like most on here seem to think, we wouldn't have won just 1 game and be 11 goals worse than Brisbane.

Maybe developmentally he doesn't, but it's also about setting a standard and not infringing on others abilities to develop. His leading patterns needed/need significant work, as sometimes he is blocking up space other forwards want to lead into. Charlie curnow got midfield minutes cut for similar reasons and IMO it's paying dividends now.
It's easy to say that player X should be playing because it will be better for their development. Next time Harry plays I'd recommend people get to the ground and just watch him for the full match. He's a natural athlete and does a lot right but his biggest issues at the moment are his tank (will improve with preseason) and his positioning.
Another thing to remember is that each player will have a different training load. People often talk about doing a mini preseason mid year when coming back from injury and something similar has been done with Harry. You really can't do stuff like that when players are in the seniors. I wish supporters would spend more time thinking about what's in the best long term interests of the club rather than short term he needs to play now type mentality.
In other news, Crows are desperate to get pick 1 in the door. Get to work SOS.
Kerridge was injured in the Freo game and hasn't played since. There is plenty to criticize in Kerridges game but lack of effort isn't one of them. Shouldn't base your opinions on anything Brown has to say. Too many plates have been inserted into his head.

Why would the AFL rule out a PP not even half way through the season?
The Lions got the PP in 2016.
The footage was taken in the 1st quarter, it's about what we are seeing not what Brown is saying - but okay choose to ignore it and make excuses for him and all our players.

That's not to say the AFL wont review that decision after we end up with only one win. The half way mark is way to early for the AFL to say yep your getting a pick if you apply now. They could only respond that if blues apply at the half way mark then we (afl) will say no.
So they probably didn't tell the club we won't get one?

Well listening to Juddy last night sounds like they made an informal call and were told don't bother. Like ive said before good strategic decision.

I have a bad feeling the club just assumed the AFL would say no anyway and chose not to bother.
Which is poor from them.
They may have correctly assessed that Disaster 2018 is largely connected to the league's worst injury record. Much like when Melbourne were rebuffed on the basis of "you're shit now but the talent is there'. This has not changed.
Matera scored his one and only goal at the 25 minute mark of the 3rd quarter not the 1st quarter. Kerridge wasn't moving like he normally does and struggled to keep up with Neale. That goal is on Jones being stooged on the mark.
I’m ok not getting a PP as long as bears and suns dont get one...and any other team ever moving forward, because if 25 wins in 5 years doesn’t get you a pick then the only way I envisage a club getting one is via a disaster such as terrorist attack or plane crash
If we get given a pp it will help a bit but the cost in negative commentary will be substantial.
I say just take this year as a doozy, cop it sweet on the chin and bring on the next game.
