Harry leaving and us netting a pick at 10 is a horrible return. Big Harry was pick 10 in a strong draft and after 3 season if we traded him for pick 10 then it means we have wasted 3 years of development when we could have used that pick elsewhere.

Im a big fan of his, i don't mind the club making him earn his spot but i am worried we will lose him only for him to blossom at another club. It would really highlight our club as not a good one.

Meh! Getting a pick 10 for a previous pick 10 with questionable work ethic, that's played 8 games in three seasons seems like a pretty good deal to me. If he leaves, he leaves. I wont lose sleep over it. We'll get something for him and we will spend it on someone else. Next please.

Explain to me a Carlton line of recent years that has overachieved? How you can possibly blame Barker is strange. The fact is List Management & development are the reason we find ourselves where we are and both of these have been a problem for too long.
List Management has nothing to do with Barker but I grant you, he's a part of the team that oversees development - this however is the responsibility of the senior coach of the time.
Brendan Bolton & SOS are the two most important men at the footy club not Johnny Barker...
barker, along with mckay have been constants in a very poor era.

maybe he's a scapegoat but i'm happy to have a clean slate

John Barker should have been sacked 3 years ago. Luckiest man in football. Suppose we can thank Andy McKay for that one

It's interesting how he was apparently our second choice to Bolton...the club also made it very clear we wanted Barker to stay...all this stuff about him being a good, Carlton person etc.

As is regularly posted on here, i can't seem to understand why he's so highly rated but obviously i don't know what he really does day-to-day at the club.

For a while the media were drumming him up as a head coach in waiting as well. Now he might get the sack?

The whole coaching department needs an overhaul, besides Bolton I don’t think any of the coaching staff have been a part of a premiership team or even successfully run club.

Josh Fraser, Shane Watson, Teague, Stanton, Jason Davonport, Sav Rocca, John Barker, Tim Clarke & Dale Amos.

Would love to try and poach Caracella or Matthew Scarlett.

Amos was from Geelong so he's been at a successful club.

Not true. Teague has been a part of St Kilda, West Coast and Adelaide and was very highly rated at the latter two, who both played finals while he was there.

Shane Watson has a really well hidden slower ball. Could be useful. He can stay

Yep, time for Barker to move on whether he's a top operator or not. We can only go on results and for him they're not flattering.

I remember when we got Barker everyone was happy because he was from clubs who had had success but little did they realise that the success came after Barker had left. Not saying he is no good but he just didn't tick that criteria for mine. He's probably done his time as an assistant so fair enough.

We have people from successful clubs now which is good. Just got to keep building and adding people with good resumes. It doesn't hurt to bring in good outside people to keep things fresh and bring in new ideas from successful clubs.

We need a lot of good people there with a keen eye because we are developing so many players and there are so many players to keep an eye on. In a more senior/successful team the coaching requirements are significantly less.

Happy with Teague but Bolton certainly needs more help. A senior assistant who has been in the game for a long time would be ideal.
John Barker is a senior assistant who has been in the game for a long time

Probably discussed quite a bit but I just want to see Ratten back. Need to get him back in the fold one way or another. I know that he got the rough end of the stick so maybe doesn't want to but he is the man we need.

Has the respect and smarts we need right now. Hopefully it can happen one day sooner rather than later.
