I say just take this year as a doozy, cop it sweet on the chin and bring on the next game.

Have you not noticed the negative commentary that is with us already...........a bit more would not matter that much especially if it pissed off all the usual knockers!!!

What is the point of holding a player back just because his attitude "may" be questionable when McKay should be playing seniors as he was averaging 2 goals a game which was better than most!!! Charlie was the only forward we had against Brisbane so they double teamed him and that was that. The MC and coach not replacing Casboult with Harry was cutting off your nose to spite your face stuff!!! He was injured most of his first season so he really has only been playing for 2 seasons and if other clubs are looking at him he must have something going for him........never be quick to give your opponents a helping hand either, otherwise the club may stay bottom forever..............We need to let our young players develop not blame them for the mess we are in right now as a club!!!

Explain to me a Carlton line of recent years that has overachieved? How you can possibly blame Barker is strange. The fact is List Management & development are the reason we find ourselves where we are and both of these have been a problem for too long.
List Management has nothing to do with Barker but I grant you, he's a part of the team that oversees development - this however is the responsibility of the senior coach of the time.
Brendan Bolton & SOS are the two most important men at the footy club not Johnny Barker...

Look what the tigers and pies have done. They set they coach up for success the last couple years by putting the right people around them. Coincidence they are both 1st/2nd. We need todo the same for bolts. Get the best like mangers going. Spend big and let the kids develop.

Anyone with a brain would read between the lines regarding Harry and not playing seniors. He simply doesn't work hard enough. I applaud the club for holding the value true of selection integrity. No one should be gifted games because of hype. If they're prepared to wok hard and apply pressure they'll play. Harry hasn't been able to do that nor has he been able to really dominate a game in the VFL.

I'd love to see big H play the rest of the season providing he's earn this spot but it's not the Carlton way to simply 'lobby' for a player to get a game because he was a high draft pick.

This is not our only problem, our VFL team is no place to develop when you are getting flogged. The only ones that can really stand out are the midfielders who are around the ball. The forwards would get poor delivery and the backs would be under siege. Fair enough in their last couple of outings they have done quite well but that needs to be our standard, not getting flogged by 10 goals every week, this does not help development.

Our injuries have weakened our seniors as well as our 2's, so we need to invest in some talent to be a core group of the VFL for us.

I would argue that nothing Sam Mitchell does is pointless. Bending over and looking at the ground was seen to be negative body language. Alternatively, having hands on hips instead of knees keeps the spine straight and your head up. These were standards that were inforced during their premiership era so they obviously have some substance.

Power posing? It doesn't stand up to scientific scrutiny. I get where you are coming from, but it's also possible that they were just better than the other teams, regardless of their strange beliefs.

That's true but how many years have both Hardwick & Buckley been in the top job for!? I would argue, particularly in Richmond's case, that it is more a reflection of well planned list management and staying the course then the assistants that surround the coach.

Yes, Barker probably needs to coach in a different environment next season but I don't believe it's fair in using him as the scapegoat. By all reports he has a wonderful repore with the players in particular Murphy who has been a huge endorsement of him. Fact is, our current problems stem from the Malthouse / Shane Rogers era where poor drafting, list management and development were key in that period to secure success for today.

I'm backing Bolton & SOS in. I'm staying the course.

Would you say that he's the luckiest coach in the game in terms of keeping his job? (but the unluckiest in terms of success... although maybe it aint luck it all).
