Seems like the Bulldogs are again using their equivalent of the DENNIS system on Wallis.

Absolutely smashed in the contested possessions and clearances, I find it hard to believe that they've got that much midfield depth Wallis has to get shunted out into the forward pocket and basically spend no time in the middle of the ground. He looks to have taken it on the chin and has started to hit the scoreboard pretty regularly but it's shades of last year with Stringer, devaluing an asset.

How’s Brisbane’s percentage?

They’re sitting 3-12, but with a percentage almost touching 90%. Pretty remarkable.
I reckon they can have a 6-10 win season next year. Most of their losses have only been by 4-5 goals.

Two losses by five points and another by seven too. Their three wins were also 56, 55 and 65 points I suppose, also.

They’ve been better than your standard 3-12 side that’s for sure.

Was at the game last night. Bulldogs were right in it in the first half and were beating Hawthorne around the ball. Luke Breust was fantastic, if he isn't the best small forward in the league right now I'll go hee, he's kicked 40+ goals every year since 2012 bar last year, and is on track for his third 50+ goal season. McEvoy is a big loss for them, Ceglar is average at best, poor at worst. Mitchell Lewis would be the most likely to replace him, going to be interesting to see how Brisbane match up on the three talls and Breust. I'd be going with:

Gardiner-Gunston
Eagles-Lewis
Walker-Roughead
Cutler-Breust

I think Eagles us due back next week, isn't he? But yes, I'd be trying to match Cutler on Breust, I think he's the only one with the pace and one-on-one ability to go with him.

Yeah, they keep losing by narrow margins. If they keep their team together and perhaps add to it I expect they'll improve again next year, possibly get somewhere around 10th or 12th with actually winning those close ones.

If Brisbane manage to sneak past St. Kilda they should think about trading their top 5 pick (assuming Lynch leaves) for multiple firsts and getting multiple high quality recruits. Probably with Adelaide if Sloane gets band 1.

Brisbane are actually my dark horse for a team to come from way back this year and sneak a finals birth in 2019.

Their list is building very nicely I reckon.
I've been bullish on the Lions for a while now. They have a future spine to dream of. Hopefully we can see a bit of Ballenden in the last couple of months and McStay back in defence where I feel he plays better.

Andrews/Gardiner/McStay
Skinner/Ballenden/Hipwood
McInerney

That's a good solid group where the oldest only turns 24 in a couple of days. I really rate Skinner, although he may be the one to play defence and McStay forward.

Just quietly the Suns are a sneaky chance of a win today. Only 11 down at half time.

Skinner getting groomed down back in the reserves. McStay better suited to a forward role from what we’ve seen of late. Probably plays a little loose down back.

A good reminder to keep perspective with sport. Not implying anyone here assaults their loved ones.
Can you add an excerpt please? :)

Some of those pictures are horrific. They make an interesting point, I guess people who are prone to violence are more likely to do so when emotions are high and they’re tanked, which usually goes hand in hand with watching sport. It’s not difficult to believe despite what some commenters they referred to in the article may say.

So Sloane re-signs with Adelaide and while I rate him, I'm mildly relieved for two reasons:
a) He won't be at Hawthorn with Lynch (also hoping Lynch doesn't go there); AND
b) We won't over pay him to come to Essendon at his age. He could be great for us but I want us to think longer term.

Brown credited his accuracy to a timeless technique — picking someone out behind the goals.

“My pop actually was Jim Manson so he was James’ dad. He always taught me growing up to pick out a spot behind the goals and I still do that,” Brown said.

“(It) depends how many are in the crowd. I like it to be a person — so if anyone thinks that I’m looking at them a little bit too intently when I’m running in for goal, that’s why, because I’ve picked them out.”

Seems so simple... yet I bet many AFL players wouldn't be doing this.

Spikes during Christmas and New Year as well. It's a bigger problem than just during sporting events.

You look at how much more accurate players are at passing the ball to someone as opposed to shooting for goal, you'd think this would be common sense. It seems when you have such a larger target in the goals as opposed to a person you're more likely to spray it.

We were taught as coaches to tell kids to use this technique. Kids who were great field kicks couldn’t hit the side of a barn in front of goal.

Brains, wierd things.
