The argument was about the action of throwing the ball to himself before the kick.

First time players (young players) often throw the ball upwards when kicking, rather than guide it onto their foot. If a player continued doing it to senior football, although obviosuly never would happen, but the action wouldnt be against the rules. Its the kicking action.

Anyway if the result was less than a goal, you could be upset as an oppo supporter. Such saltiness is not warranted when you get done by so much.

Just the cherry on top of the salty cake.

Goal of the year. Love it

Sorry for the intrusion.

I absolutely love Jack Higgins, the perfect small forward.

Did the commentators say it was a throw or give it the all clear?

I believe it was a fair goal, one of the smartest and greatest goals I’ve ever seen.
How quickly he had to think through that and execute it is rediculous.

Thinking is not his forte...going at a 100mph is...;):thumbsu:

I think 2 said throw and the other all good.
Darce, sodas and Richo gave it the all clear, as did the umpires.

How could this of been allowed as a goal? It was the direct result of Higgins throwing the ball to himself.

Showing your ignorance of the rules. Hand to foot is not a throw.

This, speed of mind to react like that was ridiculous. Greatest goal I've seen just from sheer surprise factor at the ground, I was already half way through groaning about a rushed behind.

The toothless dole bludging collingwood ferals were the only ones calling it a throw

one draft watcher said if he was 10cm taller he would of went pick 1

In a season or two he'll be ranked top 5 for his draft, I'm calling it. It wouldn't surprise me if ranked 1 or 2 either....:)

I thought moore was calling/signalling throw immediately after the goal as well?....I just don't think he could believe what just happened and he had the best sest in the house to view:D

Same, I thought we'll get a behind but then Higgins scores a freaky goal. Everyone at the ground was stunned. It was great to see that goal live.

Again Higgo is like alot of our second tier players who might not get all the plaudits but alot of stuff they do like bodywork around congestion and little knock ons to advantage that dont end up on the public stat sheets. I am sure Dimma has a more detailed analysis of player contributions and knows exactly what they do..

Not just the goal... also had the highest number of contested possies for our team and 2nd most clearances

Info pointed out by a tiggy supporter on twitter and just thought I would pass it on
