This is far beyond that, it’s patheticlly bad. None the less AFL need to invest serious money in the quality of the umpires, not in changes the rules of the game.

No amount of money and time will be able to counteract the ingrained bias of the league.

Why would an ump bother reporting Cotchin or Curnow when they just get off on tribunal every time?

Reporting players in game has little to no impact, getting free kicks right is an absolute must, and they are butchering it ever week.

Remember in 2007 against Hawthorn when Daniel Motlop did almost exactly what Jack Riewoldt did then in the goalsquare, except Motlop completed the mark? Darren Goldspink, in his wisdom, paid a push in the back against Motlop.
