Traded Braydon Preuss [traded with #62 to Melbourne for Tyson]

Would other GWS fans do that? I think we'd need more!
Yep
I like the idea of Preuss.
Setterfield is unknown and depends on where he's at in his own mind. If he's good and wants to stay then we dont trade him, simple as that.
If he is in a bad place, no indication I know of he is, and wants to go to Vic then yeah it's good start.
Details to be haggled over.

Good points.

I guess they're in a similar place. One is fit and looks to be a great ruckman in the making and the other is injured but a top draft pick.

I guess we will see what happens!

This morning on SEN Sam McClure said Richmond are interested as they need a backup for Nankervis but North want Corey Ellis in return. Seems like a fair deal. Ellis has had the better year in the VFL but Preuss could be just what we need in case Nank gets injured.

Can't believe all these scenarios being thrown up. Preuss said he's pissed off with languishing in the VFL so why would he entertain going to a club to do that some more?

Will only leave to be a number one ruckman, that narrows down the field to about three clubs, does not include Richmond, Melbourne, Essendon!

Has he shown enough to be the #1 ruckman at the top level?

I don’t see the interest for this bloke. Yes he’s big but at 23 with only 8 matches in a side that is looking to rebuild but still can’t get a game. He doesn’t appear to be knocking the door down from the magoos yet people are talking about giving up something decent for him. He may turn into a serviceable player but won’t be a Gawn or Grundy. Good luck if you trade a decent player or top 40 pick for him - reckon you’ll be buying on hope rather than anything proven.

FFS where is this narrative coming from?

Do I have to post this on every page?

His Champion Data season averages - 13.65 disposals, 3.29 marks, 2.88 tackles, 47.41 hitouts per game, 0.5 goals a game - 118.29 supercoach points per game.

Max gawn had multiple knee reco’s by that point. A little bit different
So the question mark over Gawn would have been even larger.

Roughly the same exposure as Preuss at the same age. Plus two knees.

I'm not suggesting Preuss will be as good as Gawn. My point however, is that if a talented big man can stay on the park and get the opportunity, it can turn around. Preuss is raw. But there's something there that will appeal to clubs seeking a ruckman.

Gawn & Preuss mentioned in the same sentence is just wrong
Very wrong

Gawn's ability around the ground as well his versatility is fantastic, Preuss should be compared to a Ruckman like Dawson Simpson & Witts at best

Which is why we are ****ing stupid to even entertain the thought of moving him on. Goldy has maybe a couple of years left in him, or if he gets injured, Preuss is straight in. We've spent way too much time on his development to see it disappear for possibly a second round pick that may or may not net us a long term player. Whereas Preuss is already an AFL level ruckman who would be first ruck at probably half the clubs in the league.
